Mary Weldon first became interested in music, at the age of 3, initially studying classical vocals, and then adding piano and guitar to her studies. However, outside influences from some her favourite artists, became pivotal, and steered her into new musical territory, resulting in a creative path she still walks on to this very day.
Throughout her teenage years, she performed in many professional engagements, eventually heading off to Birmingham Conservatoire, followed by Leeds College of Jazz. After meeting (and subsequently marrying) her husband, Lord Wallace, in 1999, she has continued to regularly perform, as well as being involved in many recording projects, providing vocal and compositional skills for various artists around the world.
In 2007, recording under the name Lady Wallace, she released the critically acclaimed 'Lady Wallace Sings' EP, a collection of self penned songs, working with various producers globally, that has been a huge hit in the underground electronic movement, resulting in plays on many dedicated radio stations and plays in clubs around the world.
Aside from her interest in modern musical directions, she continues to write, perform, and record more traditional acoustic material.
One critic wrote, 'Mary Weldon combines the best of all things - from the purity of Joni Mitchell, to the laid back elements of Suzanne Vega, and the honesty of Laura Veirs. All this, alongside a truly unique voice. Simply unforgettable'.
Exploring folk, jazz and many other styles of songwriting, alongside her unique voice, Mary creates and performs original material, and choice covers, that never fails to captivate any audience.
