iceandchicken - the slovak drum’n‘bass crew was found in 1998. It stands for the connection of two martin djs/producers – C-quence & Reorder. For da begining of our production we could call ourselves „da fastracker warriors“ (by the way it is still our slogan . If ya asking why?, it's because our first tracks (of course unreleased were made in 1996-97 and the only available software was Fasttracker (EXPLIZIT FUCKIN RULEZZ – authors notice for those who don‘t know, it is a „simple“ program, which takes with 100 samples about 1.44mb on the HDD (not like those „georgeous“ e-jays and magixes, which will never get over the TRACKERS). Although it was harder to work with them it was wothr the effort. We have created ( for that time and with those conditions) fairly interesting music which goes from rave through hardcore till Jungle sound.
After two years the Fruity loops was found and our decision was clear. Although C-quence didn‘t want to give up the „trackers“, when he discovered the features, which FL provide on the sound and effect side, he had changed his mind. Few weeks later (in 2000) we have created our firts track called Energizing with the undertone „...into your mind“. It was inspired by the euro-trance scene (especially German). After two years of producing mainly commercial trance and techno tracks , in which tracks, like: We love it, F2,Tranceformation (click 4 play) and our firts demo album: One step to reality, came out, we dedicated ourselves to the creation of broken DnB beatz. C-quence appreciated that decision, because he went total crazy about drum’n’bass for at least one and half a year – since 2002. Nowadays we prefer DnB to – espacially in our sets.
Right now we try to (except other activitys organize some dnb/house actions. We also prepare our first DnB set and our 2nd, at the moment unnamed demo, which should be done in this year. There will be mainly drum’n’bass and a few downtempo/trance tracks on our 2nd demo album (you can download some of the tracks on www.riceandchicken.szm.sk |
