krayzkrok is Adam Britton, a member of the group Corporation who produced three electronic music (EM) albums between 1991 and 1994. Heavily influenced by melodic electronic artists such as Jean-Michel Jarre, Tangerine Dream, Mark Shreeve and Ian Boddy, but also by others including Front 242, Nine Inch Nails, Depeche Mode, Orbital etc.
Sounding vaguely like none of the above, krayzkrok's music is instrumental, electronic, melodic, usually rhythmic, and probably danceable. The music is usually richly layered with atmospheric pads, sound effects, sequences and percussion (not necessarily all at once). Most of the music is closest in style to "electro" but he doesn't write to a particular banner.
Under Corporation, krayzkrok produced music with an Amiga A500 running Music-X powering a hardware studio (primarily a Korg Wavestation, Korg M1, Yamaha SY77, Roland U220, E-MU Emax II and various mixers and effects units). The album "Breed" was mixed at Synsounds Studio and released on CD (yes, he owns the rights!). These days he uses a mix of software and hardware.
In real life, krayzkrok is a crocodile specialist. He finds it pays better than being a musician, although it is considerably more dangerous. |
