This is a vocal mix of my track, A New Vision. It features wonderful dreamy vocals by Henriette (henriette1981 (AT) gmail.com).
Be sure to come back and check for future collaborations between us. :-)
Shout out to Sagosen for helping make this happen!

A really nice IDM'ish beginning, interesting sounds. Really phat and lovely drum sounds, nothing to complain about here. The vocals also sound really nice, even though I would have brought them a bit more to the front, a decibel or two, not much. I also would not oppose if the vocalist used a bit more variation in the tones of her voice.
Excellent and enjoyable rhythm programming, nice atmospheric effect sounds here and there. The layered vocals sound really nice. At some parts it felt like the vocals were a little offbeat, although that may just be me imagination.
Production-wise, very close to perfection. Content-wise, I think the song lacks a bit of musical variation, seems to be waiting and hanging around in the same place all the time between the intro and outro, waiting to get a real lift to some higher plane.
Anyway, a really nice thing to be listening to. |

Yo Sonus & Henriette!
This is trip-hop at it best. Henriette have a real smooth girlish voice that really sets the mood of the song. The sound that sounds like some kind of childrens toy-flute + Henriettes voice make me think of children playing in the schoolyard, but the beginning let me think of something harder than what the song really is. At first I suspect something dark to come through the speakers.
Great dream-like mood through the whole piece, but the bass could be a bit distinct I think (maybe have lousy speakers).
I give it a 9.
Keep up the good work Sonus + Henriette
Best regards,
Gustav (a jealous member of Otto Gas)

Well I know this track has had more than its fair share of reviews, but doesn't it deserve it? Quality stuff..
This was a really impressive track when I first heard it, so im looking forward to the vox version.. Yes its coming back to me now. I should listen to this tune more often. Did you do another mixdown? I think the glitchy synth at the beginning is louder than I remember and the bass line, which is absolutely blissful, seems a bit quiet in the mix.
The vox is charming, and the square sithnth is a perfect to accompany her. Trying to think who she reminds me of. Could be Beth Orton I suppose. Just the little slide at the end of each line she sings. Sounds really good. I think a little more work could be done with the vox to give it more prominence, but I cant be more specific- sorry.
I would love to give this tune a 10 since I gave the original 9.5. But I will stick with this number in the hope that the bass and vox could be tweaked a little more.

I reviewd the wrong track here obviesly :o
No need for a mega review, since I first reviewd the non-vocal
track, and gave it a 9. This track got a little higher rating then that.
So, glad to know im still doing right here, since this track is certainly
worth more then the last
Henriette here has really understud how a woman should sing
Triphop. Not many does, so biggup respect! Smooth, sexy, even
horny. All the right aspect of femal vocals in a track like this.
When I wrote the first review I spoke about how the track
made me smile, hear the girls sings my thoughts, and when
you here the vocals "...smilī-in..", you really do hear the smile.
Great great work! Lots of delay/reverb on the vocals, but very
nicelydone, and with a listen or two you do follow.
Lounge music really deserves more attention, so Im very pleased
to see that this track gets the attention itīs worth! The feeling of
this track makes it one that will go down in my "wake up folder".
It never lets me down, and Im convinced this track wont either.
Without the vocals, it was a great track. With vocals I must say
itīs even perfect. Sure, there could maybe be done some more
mastering somewhere to make it sound better, but this is top notch.
Thanx for sharing it with us |

Kcirr3d: *ping* you've got no.. actually it's a review
I always like it when a beat orientated 'producer' does a downtempo song. It means you'll always have more focus on beautifull rhytms and atmosphere, instead of trance pads and synths.
---
Great song, top notch production by both of you, Sonus for the overall arrangement and Henriette&Sagosen for adding perfect fitting vocals.
This track is added to my list of favourites. I hope that helps to get the song off nr 2 in the chart into nr 1 the first position.
---
Imo no shorter version needed, not for this public.
Let's make this comment count as a review.
The original instrumental track from Sonus was already good, this version with the vocals makes it a brilliant production.
Brilliant but not perfect just yet. Sometimes when the flute/synth plays I get the feeling that it's too loud compared to the vocals. But only when it plays together with the vocals.
I loved the intro and the outro.
I loved the beats, the snares and shizzles are EQ'ed in a way.. I can't place it. Almost like a HighPass filter or Metal effect on it. Very good.
Melody is very loose, timing is loose but the melody acts as a whole with the tight rythm, and that's what makes this track stand out even more.
etc etc. I stopped naming what i liked, because it;s a brilliant production.
9.7/10 |

I wanted to review this song but unfortunately i didn't have enough time till now. So let's see:
My first impression is "wow"'. The beginning is very original. It has a little experimental style. The drums and percussions are in excellent quality. The bass is not bad, the good word is "strange". But I accustomed to it after i listened it for the fifth time . The first notes are a little too long for my taste and maybe it's a little loud(mainly the high notes). Off course it's just a minimal negative impression for me. And then comes the dreamy voice of Henriette. I can't say anythitk but it's perfect . I also can't understand some words but it's because of my english i think The pads and effects are perfect.
The melody is catchy. It's a kind of melody that the more i hear the more i love. The build-up of the song is very good, i enjoy every moments of it. The mastering is clear as the crystal.
So overall: It's one of the best songs i have heard here in CTGmusic. My rating is 9,999999(because of the bass) but i round it so i give 10. |

You have a new review!
- vocals
- atmosphere
- pro beats
- strange, mesmorizing glissandos
- don't understand lyrics
Comments
Hm. I know the original. Let's see what's new.
Beginning, nothing new... well some things changed on the synth but not too big. The beats still rawk, check The strange Muslim voice is still there... nothing changed. The sinebass is at a too high octave IMO, and has some strange glissandos, but I'm not bothered by it
Come in the voice. Henriette really has a dreamy voice. <-- agree with Mate, but the lyrics I don't really understand. Also, now I hear some strange synth in the background. The glissandos are indeed mesmerizing here
At 1.59 is a breakdown. The beat is filtered, and the synth plays along the bassline. Lyrics are great here too, but I don't think it's a good idea to mix the muslim sample with the other vocals. After this, the atmosphere is brilliantly sculpted.
From here on, there's the old verse-chorus-verse structure as far as I can tell... Nothing more to add
Except that the 4.00 sample sounds a bit too much like it's from an old module. Dunno why...
I like the filter applied to the vocals in the end.
The final analysis
arrangement 10/10
bass 9/10
beat 10/10
creativity 10/10
drums 10/10
feeling 9/10
melody 9/10
samples 9.5/10
skills 10/10
sound 10/10
structure 9.5/10
quality 10/10
How I would improve
1. add a lyrics breakdown
Ovreall, great song. Earned a place in the permanent playlist here |

How could I not review this?!!!
Dude you must be kidding me right!?!? I mean, my god, get this to a label ASAP, it truly deserves it! I even question if I should have the privilege to review this, and even more so to listen to it for free
The intro truly catches you off guard and draws the listener right into your soundscape/mindframe. The bassline line is fat, catchy and really fits the track like a glove.
The percussion is simple yet quite effective. I think you could have a lil more variation, although that could take some of the attention away from the other beautiful elements. Ahh shit leave it as is, I don't know what I'm talking about
About the vocals, they are blowing my mind, seriously. I don't know if you just found these on the net or not, but they sound like they were made just for this track. There aren't many words to describe how well they go with this track, they really secure the deal for me. They add a new level of soul in here, really peaking stuff.
Hats off man, I hope this track goes right to the top, right where it belongs. I knew you were working on some secret weapon! Its got to be your best efforts thus far. This has Ninja tunes written all over it, contact them or else I'm gonna have to do it for you!!
A truly astonished Hemicube,
Peace

Relistened today after a long time (mostly spent either torturing my ears with Nine Inch Nails or having fun with the funk of Red Hot Chili Peppers).
I agree with Atlantis, the vocals should be slightly turned up. Not by much though, or else they'd probably push the other stuff in the background too much.
Your vocalist makes me jealous, Sonus I wish I could do this kinda stuff too. |

I'm not sure if this is down to your equipment or monitoring levels, but you'll really need to turn those vocals up. Try listening to this at low volume, and all you're really left with are the kick, bass (which, by the way, is too loud compared to the already loud drums) and hats - as if they're leading the track. It seems I'm also not the only one when I say I can't make out the vocals very well. A little 'sloppy', yet still 'tight' compression, with a relatively long attack and short release, could do wonders too, but as it is now the levels are just too far off to really make this track work for me.
Sorry to sound so harsh, but I hope you can do something with that advice. |

Thanks kcirr3d! It's definitely not nonsense. I see what you're saying about the synth and vocal playing at once.
It's cool that you mention the "looseness" of the melodies. They're all inputed via a midikeyboard live, with very little "fixing"...while the beat is rigidly programmed.
I'm glad you like it! |
