[in short] great sequel to to original Sunland - this one takes a harsher approach to the metal side of things, with less emphasis on the orchestral side.

[general] Good atmospheric intro, it's the "calm before the storm." The drums and guitars kick in fairly quickly. The first couple of times I heard the offbeat guitar stabs I wasn't too keen on them, but now, after several more listens, I'm starting to change me mind on 'dat ;) Excellent break at :58, I love the drum sequence on that  The melody line is taken from the original Sunland, but there's a bunch of other stuff in there as well. Nice break at 1:30, good progression. However, I don't particulary like the reintroduction back to the Sunland theme - I think it's the drums that's getting me on that. The way they suddenly switch to a faster beat is freaky. Some sort of "real drummer" fill would work best there, I think :)

melody
Like I said up higher, the main melody line is taken directly from Sunland. Is this a bad thing? Nahhh ;) I'd call this more of a Sunland remix rather than another song...

[percs]
Great beat, drumming sounds a little overly quantanized at times, perhaps a more human feel would work here. Other than the robot-like timing, they fit great in the mix - and ya gotta love that snare sample. I can't help but think that some drum fills would really suit this song - the guitars have a good human feel to 'em, but the drums are kinda monotonic. Certainly something to think about :)

[mix]
Good 'n loud 'n upfront. No complaints, I listened to this about five times at (a way to) high volume whilst reviewing this, and I can't hear anything outta place.

[score]
8.5 from me, and a big thumbs up :D

Ahoy there! First review I have written in ages (I actually have time on my bank holiday day off!)

I fancied listening to some good rock (not enough here on CTG!)

Nice intro, very atmospheric. There is a nice arabic instrument that is played here that reminds me ALOT of Boards of Canada... that is until... The guitars kick in!!

Fairly standard metal riff.. not necessarily a bad thing.. we all need to rock out!

Nice Rob Zombie/Quake2-type key change at 58 seconds. This is then almost immediatley backed up by that nice arabian instrument we hear at the beggining.

At exactly 1:30 there is a nice little interlude which brings the track in a whole new direction, and calms your senses down after the heavy metal bit.... until!!!

1:54 kicks in! A nice little change of melody here with a new guitar being played. The riff played is also very arabic, keeping with the overral sentiment of the introduction (i always think its nice when music has a context, and the context I feel of this song is arabic metal!!) .. as opposed to orchestral

Anyway, enough generalising ;o)

Good points

1- lots of twists and turns to keep the listener interested
2- Fab production
3- Drums.. drums drums!! The drums sound excellent.. they sound real. Im guessing they are?? If not... give us the samples please
4- Nice Arabic feel, which works very well with the metal.

Bad Points
1- Not too keen on the main metal RIFF, it sounds a bit cliche.. but thats just me... i like the sound tho.
2- I dont know what it is, i cant peg it.. but its missing something that is getting me completely hooked!!

Hmm, I think overral I am going to give this an 8. I think the production and the 'arabic' feel give it this high a mark. Something isnt quite right with the metal, perhaps it was something you came up with as a last resort? I dont know.. eitherway it is a good tune, but I feel it could be so much more! Maybe emphasise the 'arabic' parts more, but with more subtle heavier guitar work.

Hope this review helps.

Fab song btw ;o)

..... oZostomia´s Quick Review ...

Yo PLUKS long time i gave you some feedback on your work!
So this one will be short and ill try to fit everything i want to say on packed
package!

The intro starts calm and it doesnt give any sign of metal...but as just when you think ok its keeping calm. But it truly starts with phat guitars! that sounds good, but i found them too loud and too near sounding! I would recommend lower the volume on guitars so the orchestral part hears from the background! Every instrument fits well with each other!

Drums sounds good, and the guitar solo is simple in some solos´s rocks so it fits well into this one! And the idea and creativity surprised me and i think many listeners will do the same...
The orchestral part is soft and well made and i really cant hear anything to complain about!
Reminds me of Rammstein mixed with Soundtrack music!

I hope you understand that theese were only suggestions to how "I" could have made it...ok ofcourse i need your talents to do that :D

Long time ago i heard anything from PLUKS music, and i took my chance and it surprised me with nice guitars and feeling and somehow it got little attitude in it!

Overall a good song from PLUKS

Good work done here!

Just listening again, and I just love this song.

Well done again!!!

Reminds me a bit of Metallica's No Leaf CLover for some reason, when it goes heavy, then light.

w00t!

Nice :) I like the Queen of Sunland better than Sunland itself... drums are better, and those screaming guitar solos are totally outta there
