Oh yes. An excellent collage of a wide variety of sounds, yet escapes the typical faults of the genre. It ebbs, flows, builds and progresses and wields great understanding of juxtaposing textures and crafting what would otherwise be random events into an actual structure. A loose one, yes, but the music has form and progresses at a variety of paces.
What would in other hands be an unremarkable 'arty' mess, is engaging throughout and explores many atmospheres in its short running time. Which brings me to the only fault: what the hell is up with the length? It's not 3:19 like it says in the panel to the right. The song linked to is only 1:55. If it had had carried on with the same quality up to the stated time, this would get a 10, no question. As it is, I'm left feeling a bit unsatisfied, but what is there, is superb. |
