After listeninfg to the intro, I can tell I have listened to one of your tracks before.thats not a bad thing.
I like the bassline here the most..The pads are nice but sound a bit thin, i dont think they have enough leyers to them..The melody (is it a guitar or piano) is really nice.
Im afraid the hissy snare distracts from the smoothness of the song, and the beats need a little variation..
kind of reminds me of the Cocteau twins a little bit..
A tune that takes one idea and presents it gfairly well. However, the artist would do well to work on improving the beats and pads..

Let us take one thing at a time. The start is very nice . The tempo is very nice the pad has a touch of modulating choir giving me a feeling that I am underwater. The electric guitar sound emphesises the laziness and the meditative character of the song. You say morning light and you catch the feel of the morning , prety much the same could happen if you have named it "sunset". It becomes from time to time a bit loopy , repeating the same melody again and again. No I do not think the song should change direction just give the melody a bit more variation. Another comment is that the overall sound seems a bit blury which makes the pads and strings to attach on each other. That is not good they should be more independent sound wise. An EQ could do the job here separating the frequencies for each instrument. The final advice I could give you is that it is a bit short for ambient song. Ambient song varry ussualy between 5 - 10. Because they are slow , too little information for the brain to process, so time seems to pass quicker. Overall a very good effort. |
