Wow, this is ancient! It reminds a little bit of Dubstep with the use of bass and breaks! But this is WAY better, hands down! I really enjoyed the classical atmosphere of this track. I am a fan of some Jungle that isn't too hardcore, and this was freakin' perfect!!! I enjoyed the fancy sounds that were created as well. I've heard a lot of Amiga Protracker mods, etc. and this is one of the most creative out of them all! I most of all enjoyed that "fading and faded" sample loop in the background! I will say the vocals were a little unnecessary, that ruined the song a bit. However, still enjoyable! This is definitely a classic and I do agree with Louigi, it is cool. Blast from da past!  |

Hi. I am going to review this. Good jungle track. I'm not sure what the differences between old school jungle and new skool. I think everything is good. A lot of the samples sound a bit old, but they are nice. Drums are cool. Not something I could enjoy but Lougi can. The melody is very nicely done. I'm not sure "cool" fits in. No work needed there. Very good jungle track! No work needed. All is good. The arrangement is nice, the bass, the beat, creativity, DRUMS, feeling, melody, samples, skills, sound, structure and quality is all good. Maybe not the quality, but it's an XM. 10 - Perfect!

This is a jungle tune, very oldschool (and indeed composed in 1996). A lot of atmosphere, great breaks and a lot of invention.
Although it is an xm file, and from the point of view of people who use modern sequencers a tracker programm may seem something that cannot produce fancy effects, there are a lot of them in this tune. Not only they are there, but they are also a unity with a tune. In some tracks you get sound effects out of place, so that the music and the sound effects give an impression of two different things. Here sound effects, voice samples and the music are a unity.
I very much liked the main theme. It is cool. Really. Never thought I'd be saying the word "cool" in the review, but it's an accurate word in this case. The melody is not gentle, beautiful or whatever. It's... cool!
In conclusion - wonderful tune. One of those tunes that you will want to actually listen for your enjoyment. A must download! |
