Inspired by a cathedral chronometer in Rome. Couldn't find a picture of it online.

I'm going to start by saying that this song is AMAZING - and could really leave it at that! Very impressive!

This song sounds like it was performed by a full orchestra - the clarinets, strings, flutes, bassoons, and percussion (especially the woodblock and xylophone(?)) were perfect.

It's very playful - it lends itself very well to the imagination, precisely what is needed when listening to a piece in this genre.

Also important - the theme (and piece in general) is explored very well in instrument and voicing, and also ties the piece all together. When I get to the final bump-bump! at the end, It's perfectly timed, planned and executed.

It ties everything up into a nice, must-listen-to-again-and-again package! I can't wait to hear more!

Here we have a classical piece, which has a really cool title - however, the title doesn't guarantee it's going to be a good track does it?. This though, inspired me to say what I think, when I'm feeling extremely tired and just wanted to goto bed. Thats means it must be awesome eh? Right!. Read why...

At the start, nepsus, suspen, suspenlute or whatever he calls himself today  , gets right down to business, and drowned my senses, with some brilliant, playful jig, then some sublime, yet simple melodies that are completely enchanting to hear, a total delight, if you like!. This playfulness is present all the way from start to finish.

The arrangement is flawless, I just cannot imagine how it could be any better, its quite minimalistic... So those hoping for a whole ensemble of classical instruments, making huge walls of sound, forget it!. The way the track runs from start to finish, transitions in each section, are simply perfect, making it a thoroughly enjoyable listen all the way through.. The percussion is almost non existant, however, when it's used, its to dramatise the section, rather than just there for show. Really well used. Excellent use of stereo, giving width and dynamics which just help the entire piece fill your senses with goodness!.

Sound quality is excellent, great mixing of the instruments, and great choice of instruments too, they are really clean, and sound really good even on my laptop.

Overall, the feeling is that of some sort of playful chase, in and out of shadows. Not sure thats what was intended, but nepsus can't be blamed for my over tired, over active imagination!. I bet you're wondering now though, why something I enjoy so much, and say is so good, flawless in areas even, has only been rated 9.5.... Simple, it was over way too soon for me... This is one of those cool tunes that you just want to continue on and on... but 2mins 13 seconds, just wasn't enough... It doesn't stop this track from entering my list of favourites though!. Well Done nepsus!

The great thing is there's VERY little processing in this song. It's all due to the excellent quality of the GPO library, which has only improved.

thanks for your comment. :)

Fantastic audio mastering! It seems to me that a real orchestra playing. I really like the natural sound of the instruments and of course your playing. I hope you will compose similar songs in the future. :)

Listening on my main system today, with much better sound than a laptop, and sounds excellent!
