A typical "dude chases some other dude, or female in a frickin car, then for some reason shit start to blow up" song
Big beat drums and some distorted leads, simple.. yet effective! |

Hrm, Cool song... It was definitely breakbeat but it had some funk and an overall pretty light breezy feel.
I like the melody and the variations of the melody that play out through the song - it seemed like you built the song around the melody rather then the percussion, which is a good thing usually.
I think the slowdown at the 1:50 mark could be exploited WAY better. I love the idea of dropping down to almost zero before hitting up the section but the full stop at 1:45 just isn't doin it for me. Get some massive reverb or delay or echo going, I dunno. But that pause felt disjointed.
I think the snare hits sound like they have been gutted in the low spectrum - layering a bassier snare behind it would improve the sound of the snare hit IMO (or bass compression). Actually going over your whole song, there was something seriously missing in the low spectrum from almost all of your drums, even the kicks. Layering a nice beefy 808 kick and snare would vastly improve the song and remove the 'hollow' feeling that almost all of the percussion gave me. Bass compression and tweaking drums to have additional punch would make this sound way hotter.
The build up after the silent section was nice, a new melody, and pretty much as sweet as the other one. First impression is that the melody is kind of simple, but it never seems to stay still
The ending was another dead stop, a nice and easy fadeout would be better even.
The good:
-Cool melodies throughout, well varied and they sound great
-Nice breezy breakbeat feel
The bad:
-The percussion all sounds hollow. I think its your samples, but you could get around it with tweaking
-The percussion all sounds hollow!
Overall:
A cool breakbeat song that is being let down by the mixing
Recommended for a nice, easy breakbeat listen. |

| Decent sound on it. Considering that this is probably a drum loop you've sampled, I feel you could work more with the melody line(s). Its decent and it works, but it isnt strong imo. |

| Oh the review is freely given. Right now, on average, I post 6 reviews for every 1 I receive (in other words I don't expect them returned). If you feel up to it have a listen to 'Go Fly' and tell me what you think. |

Hahah, damnit, I forgot to put the "no reviews please!" flag on this song, but never the less mindmasher, thanks for the review and the very valid points
As I technically don't write CTG reviews anymore, do state which song you'd like an indepth comment on instead |
