bla, bla, bla, review on tracne song ;D
First off, kudos on sticking this track right in your face!. Quick swoosh, and full force right in your face, bassline, kick drum, arpreggios... just like 'easy off, BAM! TM' A few more elements are dropped in after a bar or two, then some key changes, all very nice I must say!.
Towards the 2nd minute, the track breaks down, to some nice lush pads, slowly progressing to the tracks climax. The tracne arpreggios are truely what is keeping my interest up in the track though for sure, as they fade back in, they take me away into tracneland. At 2:50 there is a nice celstial harmony playing away, which seem to become abit more audible after the snare build up, as the pads re-enter. At 3:45 a big boom, and its all over. Which left me feeling all in all, a bit disappointed. For me, there simply isn't enough in this track to make me want to return to it and listen again. At 3:45, without looking at the track progression in winamp, you really feel the track is about to explode into some awesome eletronic riffs and mind bending do-da's, but it didn't happen, the track ended... out of nowhere too, it was in full force, then suddenly, boom, over. That's your lot, go home... I know this is a 'radio' edit... but still? 
The track shows a lot of promise though, malmen obviously knows how to use his tools very well, as the sound quality, progression, etc, is top notch. The one thing I can take from this track though, is that I shall be listening to more malmen workings, because there is a very obvious talent here, and I know that I'm going to come across stuff thats going to have the desired effect, and blow me to kingdom come!  . |
