Artist Comment:
After quite some time i made a little melodie and then i got this inspiration to make a full song out of it . It is again one of those songs which are made a bit to quickly (yestrday+today) but this way i like it more :D

The song is very melodic (all the time ;) ), it is also energetic with a bit of commercial influence.

Review this song! - Song Reviews (28):

Hey Gaj, you have a new review :)

This track is one of my favourites since i am in Ctg, I have listened to it plenty of times.
The beginig is cool, a bit deep and also relaxing, the beats are exclusive, original, and also good quality, then you introduce the main melody which is one of the best i've heard never, thats because this is my favourite style, maybe some louder string pads will also fit in. Never repetotive as some other trance songs, your track reaches the best part in 2:51. This stuff is almost perfect, the only thing i would say about this part is a comment about the bass, which i would like to listen more, as in other tracks like unlimited access ore today ;)
Well i also would have played more with filters in your melodies, and probably in 5:50 a piano or something to complete the song as another synth in a lower octave would be perfect, i mean with a different melody but which would fit :)
The rest is just very very good. In my opinion your best track here in CTG!

The sound quaity is the best! T-racks is very good after composing a song in reason, and i imagine you have also used the compressor of sound forge. I would like to see one or two pannings in your song but thats only one soggestion, im not talking about the main melody, im refering to fx and backs:)

In conclusion and sincerely one of my favourite trance tracks ;)

Your masterpiece

Intro: Sounds really good actually, the intro has this deep feeling you want.

Bass: If' i dont hear wrong, there is 1 main bassline and one bassline fill? Doesnt matter, the bassline is cool anyways.

Beat: You should try to eq' the drums more, If the drums doesnt sound as you want em to, just use EQ' :) Everything is about eqing in Reason :)

Feeling: Cool feeling,

Melody: Mainmelody sounds rocks balls, really cool!

Sounds: Alright

Quality in ctg i'll say 9/10
But if i rate against a pro track armin etc i would say 6.5/7 of 10.

Cool track overall, i like it.

Thanks for your review! Going to check yours now
While listening...

* beginning of the song is nice & atmospheric, very full sound, nice percussion too
* only don't really like the bassline
* intro could use a little bit more changes
* break then... leadsynth is pretty cool and original
* @3:25 sounds véry nice here, I should only add a lower bass too, to fill up the low frequencies
* it tends to get a bit boring towards the end, maybe some nice effects could change that

Overall a lovely track man, think I'm gonna keep this one on my hard disc :) Only a few points could be better, it's up to you to decide what to do with it. Good luck man!

This song is great. It is energetic, and melodic too. The song builds up to a great climax after the 1st progresion. The buildup at the begining of the track is also great. The sound quality is up there with the best of the worlds producers.

Compared with "I can se the light" this song doesn't have has much imagination. This is my opinion. But as an energetic melodic trance track, this song really has it all, power, strive, and for some reason it just makes you want to dance.

One thing thing though, have you tried using sound modules & keybords to create your songs from scratch & by hand? Too many artists are using only Reason & Fruity Loops. Personaly I would like to hear more diferent sounds from you because you do have that talent to experiment. I have only just started using Reason 2.5 but I will never let it take over my music.

Overall 8.5 on the Rickter Scale! This song shakes the flor!

Damn, good job Acecream!

This song is extremely unique in it's sound and I have to give ya props for that!

Structure: Everything builds great, breaks and breakdowns are all in the right places! The drama formed by this is fantastic!

Sound: Unique and unrelenting. Good job wit the constructing of them!

Enjoyment fact: Extremely high. This is a song I can keep on my comp and really rock da speakers wit.

GOOD JOB!

The intro's pretty cool, really original. I found it awkward, but really creative. The energy flow in this track is really great, ever since the beginnign when it picks up it's consistent and filled with energy. Nice sound effects, they all add to the energy :) . I don't like some of the background experimental noises you used though and some of the reverse cymbal slices are too short (only some of them though). Good panning. I like the way the filters were used along with the synth. Nice techniques and transitions used. The main synth melody that comes in is catchy and pretty good. The synthlines do get a bit repetitive though, play around with it to make it sound different. Around 5:35 it sounds awesome with the resonance and especially how the synth picked up again. The conclusion is really good but I think it sounds a bit offsetted. Good track overall man!

hehe, now you fall under my hammer :-) thought i'd check one or two of your tracks out as i haven't even listened to any yet! :D

so here we go... review as i listen :)

great intro, atmospheric build up - nice voices in the back ground. The break is very clean and defined, full of energy to. Everything is nice and wide sounding :) apart from perhaps the blippy lead which sounds like its panned too far right?

a change in the beat as this progress's would have been nice also, as it sounds a little repetitive, but you could fix that.

ok, 2nd break and we have some nice key changes/breakdown - but that synth really is pinging right then left which sounds odd

Main break - excellent lead synth - again sounds over to the right a bit (bet you used the same delay units didn't you! :)

This sounds awesome, full and alive with energy, the beat still needs some work as the leads are engulfing everything.

The twisted/vocal chords come back in for a break from the euro section, back to a 2 note key change which is always welcome in trance  and breaks down nicely from the main chorus.

The only complaint i have is that the drums sound a bit `4 to the floor` and its hard to distinguish the hats from everything thats going on.

Overall a great track which could do with a little tweaking on the volumes in places (the euro leads for example) and some minor panning issues.

Excellent stuff :D

hey!

just found this on my disc, but couldn't play it?!?! so i downloaded it again...
here we go:

the intro is beautifully done... but the beat kinda dissapointed me...
and i guess it took you a while to change the bass (2m20s) :)
in the break, the panned synths that have filter going down are a bit scratchin, and it really hearts my headphones :)
the buildup right after the break really took me by surprise.. i guess too sudden, too fassst...

i found this thing in a lot of tracks.. you cannot really distinguish the hihats from the synths that have a lot of high freq noise...
of course they're there, but cannot really hear them well...

soundquality is nice.. but i don't like the amounth of reverb you put on the claps...
and some short rev-cymbals are too LOUD! :)

also kinda repetitive even for a 8 minuter, not many variations exept some beat changes here and there...

good work...

1) Well, the intro is nicely build up because, I had a hard time telling when the bassline comes in, so everything fades in nicely when the beat starts

2) The lead in your intro sounds a little loud, maybe if you can turn it down just a tad (but maybe its just my mixer because i have my high frequency up)

3) Good build up, fades out to a enjoyable melody

4) I didn't like how you had the kick at the end (7:51), i'd prefer you leave it at the original state(4 beats) and just simply fade it out, but its ok i guess =D

Sounds like something I would listen on a trance radio, I give you an 8 ;)

A shame it's this "far down" on the chart. Kicks reasonably more ass than some of the above trance tunes.
Anyway, really nice complete audiospectrum here. Often I find it Reasoners don't worry about stereo; nice to see you do. :)
The main part that bothers me about this, is your drums, they just seems a little err.. Toylike, No offence at all, I just don't like them. And the Lead synth, why the heck is it panned to the right? lol. And the melody, sounds more like something you would expect as a background teaser in a bridge. But I really like your whole buildup, and all that detail work. Nice job. :)

WOW!

Very intense. To be honest...I am not one for trance big-time, but this sounds really hype! I find the sounds very appealing to the ears, futuristic -I like the way it really pumps me up! Really no coice but to dance to this, kind of gives me a train spotting vibe... I can see myself in a cloud of smoke on the dance floor, eyes expanding, breathing heavy, bodies shimmering... glistening sweat off young tight cute trance girls... mmmmm, very hype.

For me it could use some more variation, a little more use of sounds, tribal drums would fit nicely for me... but I am a bit of a sicko for this kind of tribal stuff! It jsut doens't go to the full-on climax i'm lookign for... something to blow me apart... of whcih there is no coming back...

It does indeed have a commercial feel to it, but I still respect that;)

Clearly you have some skills my man! Keep making people want to dance... that is a gift man! :)

This is really great! I like the sounds of this tune very much, especialy the gliding string; too cool! The first break with full powered synth straight at the beginning made me shiver  Melody isn't the most original one, but I don't care as long as it works superb.
The filler melodies, background and apps are done well, but I somehow miss a steady part in the middle, not a  tho...
Main melody truly is great for me, breakdown around 5:50 is really nice.

Only complain that truly bothers me is that main synth plays a bit too much to the right (stay away from the spread button on Mael ;) )
True... it repeats itself a lot throughout the playtime, steady mid part or a bit of cutting out could remedy this... but nevertheless, a REALLY good efford!
Give me a centered main synth remix... and it will be 9 :D

Respect mate!

now here's some good sound quality. i like the intro melodies more than in any of your tunes before.. they are now simple and working, not that euro even. i like the structure, it's very basic but very working, why to change a way that has been proofed working :) the main melody isn't that catchy, but it's not that bad either. the main melodies lead sound on the other hand is really good very powerful! if this song would have a very catchy melody it would 10/10 or atleast 9/10.. but now 8/10 will do :)

Very good trance tune. The harmonies are nice and even though they are reapeated very often, this is just they way you can grow inside and enjoy it running in the club. The quality of sounds is also very good, you can get to know every single sound if you concentrate. Very organic synth pads, they are all perfectly leading into each other either faded or filtered. I only think it's a bit too long for my taste and I miss a bit a structure that increases some tension. Yet, nice to hear.

- Nice intro
- Special and cool mood
- Beat is damn good
- Mélodies are very cool!
- I guess it's repeatitive... too much lol
- The break is well done ^^
- Transition is perfect
- Synth lead is kickin ass
- Melody is damn great
- Chords are very well chosen ^^
- The beat is g r e a t ! ! !
- Too much repeatitive stuff... even if effects and all the technics are perfect

< I guess you should try at less one time to do something else than trance... I guess we should be impressed, you got a lot of skills ;) >

So 8.5... maybe it's a hard review, but i like your song anyway!

Hell, you deserve one review more  :D Intro is something I love, distant voices approaching and wicked Ace-stylish bass banging louder and louder....ang when song kicks on, all parts are in order. Just like they should  Ofcource you can whine about clap dry/wet balances or so, but these are minor issues after all. Melody comes on time, with nice textural variations. Several sounds combined together quite commercial way, pure synths I suppose, requires quite amount of skillz. And that well on your creativity isn't empty  ;)
What i whine here about is the length or a lack of variations, after all. Just tiny changes to notation and interest would be uplifted again. And that's all.

very nice sound from the start but really I find this extremely repetitive. From such a great trance artist I was a little dissappointed with this one.. but then you said you made it in only a couple of days so I forgive you... but the easily solution here is to make a shorter song.

But this melody of 2 patterns repeats for nearly the entire length of the song with very little variation other than effects. The music is great.. sound quality is great... mixing is great... very clean yet complex sound.. but its just the repetition that really loses me. Hate to rate so low but great sound quality isnt everything!

It's nice to see you again in the scene ace, very nice  I mised your music ! OK now to the song. Well it is and standard ace trance song with very nice ideas and great atmosphere. I must agree with Mark about the paining. The whole song is to stereo and there is to much of playing, the sound goes to much left and right. Reverb is also overused on some sounds, well it makes a really good atmosphere but somehow it sound to reverbed. Melodys are nice especially the very good main melody. Well id like it much more then the intro. After a while the song begines to repeat and it isnt that interesting any more. Structure is good and transitions work very good like always. I like this freakin voices in the baground really cool  Synths are really good too, with fat sound and good quality has the song too. Well i think you should work more on this song and it could be even better, because this song could sound amaizing with some more variations, better intro and more pro sound. Anyway a really nice song

Long time we didn't hear a good Acecream song
Compared to the other reviewers, I like this song pretty much. Especially the power in your synths and the way you use the stereo effects in the background :lovemusic:
You seem the be addicted to your drums Ace :D I could guess this song was made by you just by listening to the drums.
The feeling in your song are truly great. I could imagine all those little cutetrancegirls dancing into the lights at a disco :D

You're going more and more commercial. And that's a point I like. I think I'll play this as warming up song in the club this weekend

Don't have much more to say, I just love it...

Very good trance song, full of power and energy. I love the melody, it reminds me a bit on Rank1.
The quality is great. Your hyper-reverb-panning synth realy roxx. There are also some cool background fx.
If you ask me, there are no mistakes in structure and composing, so you get an 8 from me!!

Keep up your great work !!! :)

Yay! It works now =)

Soundwise..
The clap is too wet... perhaps turning down the reverb could help it or you could monoize the clap so it sounds nicer in the mix. Its up to you . The stereo hats and tamborines were a good idea, but the overuse of panning with the other synths made the mix sound TOO full, like Szardt stated. Overall I was impressed with mix. You did meet the requirements of getting everything equal in the spectrum and on the 0db peakpoint so I give you an 8.5 for the engineering part.

Musicwise...
The melodies aren't effective. They are just your average everyday formulaic dance music melodies. This isn't a real trance track in my opinion because it didn't put me in a trance while listening to it. Although, a lot of the parts of the mix's atmosphere kind of did. Repeating what Szardt said on the structure, for a club mix this goes in too fast to the main melody also making it harder for reviewers to catch flaws in the drums and bassline (I guess that's a good thing for you ain't it? ). The song itself is nice. A little bit above average, but still has the stale elements of formulaic trance music, so this musical peice gets a 6.0.

So I guess that averages out to about 7.5

Well the others pretty much covered everything already it seems.

Im very picky when it comes to trance tunes cause unfortunatly everything seems to be the same these days. This tune is repetetive yes, but it has a wide stereo range which is something i just happen to like alot and the whole track has a sound to it that just keeps me interested. Trance the way i like it. Where nothing really matters and where you can just sit back, close yer eyes, and enjoy the music. (atleast thats how i enjoy to listen to music)
The melody is great, even tho around 2.50 the melody seems to get sort of random and unfortunatly after that not much special happens anymore. But still, i like these electronic sounds.

Not the best trance tune i ever heard mainly cause its lacks variation, but a nice track nevertheless.

I think this is the first song I've heard by Acecream, the links never works for me! But this did! :) At first I was impressed of how much this track really rocks, but it feels a bit drawn-out (too long for what it really deliver.) A plus for original intro, but otherwise the track isn't very interesting, still enjoyable! Ok I can hear it needs more work at places, some transitions are cheap ;) But some of them are good. Melody are pretty nice, drums rocks bigtime despite its simpleness (the clap is great!), sound quality are great, overall a quite good job for being two days!

You composed a melodic trance song here with very nice melodies. Excellent quality, very good feeling, This song has everything to catch real trance fans.
I could highlight lots of positive things in the song, really. But, let me highlight one very important one. Knowing your source file also, the best thing in this song is the sounding of the instruments and the way you use them. And, you do it from scratch, from pure subtractor and malström synthesis. You have excellent skills for that, no doubt about it.
Yes, the song is a bit too long for one theme, but it is flowing, and - for me - because of the sounds, it is good to hear it again, and again.
Good work. Very good. ;)

MemberSzartd (classical) 04 Oct. 2003
Nice trancer which could have a "regulair" intro part with a descent kick so dj's are able to use it in a set .... there is simply too much going on right away .
The panning is too extreme , making less things panned , and some of them a little more will make the sound more complete and full , right now I got the feeling there is just too much panning going on , which is making it sound a little messy .
The melodies are nice and cheesy .... but again , things come a bit too soon in my opinion .
The beats are ok , but a bit simple , the percussian is just average hihats and clap stuff ... could be done more complex and interesting .
The lead is good , but could use some delay or something so it is more smooth ... also , if other stuff was not so competely panned , it was sounding more energic I guess .
The whole main lead comes way too soon , should be introduced at a later point , after some more lquit break ....building up the tention .
The sound quality is ok , but too full ....
The song is now getting pretty repetive because the lead comes too soon ...
Anyway , the overall song is very nice , but pretty basic , I expected more of it , and it sounds like there is more work to be done .... nice attempt anyway , and good to hear you didn't lost your thouch .

hmm.. interesting intro, but bpm is a lil slow for me imo for this type of song. anyway, sure does have energy, but not as much as i wanted :( . hmm... at the break, a lil panned too much on the right i think, or maybe is it just my speakers? Melody is ok, but not too interesting i think. You got a powerful and nice lead, i like that ;) . The filter bass gets annoying for me, but thast just due to my tastes in trance. I think this song is too long, and should have some more melodic variation. ;) . O well, nice track, but more variation would make my rating go up.
Keepp up the good work.

Just a comment: I love the intro, sounds electroish and original. Not really dj kind but whatever :D Song itself hasn't got enough melodies or variations, sounds quite repetitive after 3 listenings. Pad melody in backround (played also as intro) makes me moody. Strong and effective simple melody. One more note, break in 5:50 sounds really surprizing and uplifting ;)
