modern music makes use of parallel fifths and eighths. it's the new thing!
plus, you go into parallel fourths (or inverted fifths or whatever) every half of a phrase, so it's not like it's really repetitive. and I would argue that the parallelism isn't against different voices, and that the fifth's operate as one unit or something (no, I can't remember all that techno-mumbo-jumble ). |
