Guess what my first impressions are! They are that this reminds of an old 80's synthpop tune! Very cool and retro! In fact, this does reminds of some of Tangerine Dream's older tunes! As I listen on, I am enjoying the arrangement job, and the drums and samples are great! They are what brings on the entire classic feel! This is definitely very peaceful as well! I am noticing that the song does change up but very little. It seems to go on with the same melody throughout. However, I am still liking it!
This also reminds me of some of those 90's fast paced FPS shooters that sometimes had music similar to this. I'm talking of Unreal specifically. It seems that there are a few that had some cool Electro stuff like this that sounded awesome! The outro was well arranged and sounded great, however it got me thinking that the track was going to continue and change up a little and get a little more dramatic and would introduce something new! However, it still gave a good feeling/impression!
Overall, there's not a whole lot say considering this was a short piece. Very simple and definitely sparks classical interest! The only major cons to point out are that it was a little dull meaning there wasn't a whole lot that happened. I'd hoped for something a little more dramatic to take place that would give it a somewhat darker feel. Also, it was shortly-driven meaning it was too short for me. But then in the 80's, a lot of synthpop tunes weren't too long. So, I shouldn't expect some 10 minute synth as this is not a Trance song. |
