If I had heard this in a passing car or on the street, yeah I'd call it dubstep. But I am a newcomer to the genre and my opinions and knowledge are relatively infantile, but I do know sounds. Kick ass modulated sound right away. It has many levels and I like that. Arpeggiated effect on the deep riffs is slick. Nice variation on said noise through out the song. Simple and powerful. Dark imagery abounds in this one.
Middle break is a bit predictable but the flow is kept intact with all the effects and sweeps. The rolling bass counter-melody near the end is also pretty sweet and well placed. The pitch-bended synth, rips and soars. Overall nice element parts and a cool sound at the end. Dubstep, or whatever it is, is like the "metal" of electronic music at this time, and to be honest my musical youth background was founded in Thrash Metal, if you don't mind me simply classifying things. Dubstep seems to me like moshing music, and this track makes me envision the pits I've been in years ago. And maybe again... It's a fun three and a half minutes.
Keep that muse.
