This is an attempt to capture the same sound and emotion as Yoko Kanno did for the anime series Escaflowne. Of course she had a real orchestra, and that is quite hard to compete with. For years this soundtrack has stuck with me, and was wildly inspired to compose something of the same nature. This is not an arrangement, but more like a re-interpretation. I ended up playing the piano solo myself, because it was quite a pain to sequence. I know this will never be at the same level as Yoko's works, but I tried to my best ability at the moment to create something in respect. Take a listen of my vision on this fantastic soundtrack. |

[.general]
Emotional, beautiful, absolutely perfect Exceptional in every way.
[.music]
Everything is exactly as it should be, timings that sometimes hold back, gorgeous piano, emotional slow strings. All in just the right place. Simply amazing
[.sq]
Productionwise this is as solid as anything as well, beautiful strings and piano sound. Very pleasant to listen to
[.summary]
In the end there's just not so much one can say about a piece of music like this, you simply have to hear it for yourself! |

I am a fan of Yoko Kanno's work (this reminds me, I haven't listened for a long time. Should definately get mp3s again ), so I know how hard it can be
The song start is just... amazing. The string chords are really emotional. Remind me of anime works (nah, wasn't thinking of one particular). Still, the samples rawk, and the melodies are melancholic, and really effective
The piano solo is also really excellent. Minimalist, but manages to capture emotion perfectly
I have lost my words. It's that much I like this track
A 10 from me. |

This is my first song review so please be gentle with me...
Well for me personally, i think you have certainly captured that type of emotional atmosphere achieved by Yoko Kanno. I'm only familiar with one Escaflowne orchestral piece but you have definitely struck gold with this. You're one of the greatest composers i've heard in a long time...and i've actually been a fan of yours since i heard Final Summoning earlier this year and downloaded this song on your official website.
If i were to give a description for this piece in one word i would say "MYSTIFYING."

Paaaaang!I think U know whats that. Its nothing more than delivery pal...
This is short, but awesome one. This is first such a great composed soundtrack production I founded at ctg.Atmosphere of this 'track' is melancholyc and crying. Some thing r really hopeful.Amazing introduction-this kind of breathing strings building up sountracking tension.Piano floating like little fish.Into the bottom of the ocean. It isnt hard to give it high rate, because all the melodies, arrangement, creativity, mind and rest of enjoyable parts of Your job is just PERFECT.Nothing less or more.Im impressed

It starts very promising... i mean, awesome. Those accords are modern high-level classical composing. 0:40 a piano play starts, kind of sad and depressive but adding to the complete picture there. 1:22 the end verses are coming up. Thats a minus, they are too short. Dont get me wrong, i like focused pieces, but at 1:41 all is over. Why a 9 then? Bcause i want more. (Its the opposite to "when is this finally over..."). Sumary: The opening is the best part both in composing and time-sizing. Nearly as good is the piano play in the middle. The end is flawless, too, but it would be better to have a climatic or "i will blow you away" finale. It IS good music, though and well worth to keep it in mind. |
