By an overwhelming majority of 2 votes people suggested to add this one next on my artist page So, here it is.
First of all the song the song length is due to the long outro which I arranged to give the album an nice and smooth ending. I decided not to cut it out of this version because it became part of the song and the track is kinda like a journey in itself
The idea of the ambient mix was to leave most of the drums and only use some percussion effects for the rhythm. The main melodies are played by some bell synths which play lots of apparent random notes supported with delay effects. I intended to make it more interesting that way and make up for the lack of kick, snare, and hats
Once again, I hope you can enjoy it! |

starting the track now, is this happy hardcore chords? heheh, anyway, they're nice
i like the deep bass.
the song has great feelings to it reminds me a bit of Awesome's old tracked songs.. but in better quality, i dunno if he's still around..
nice percussion and stuff, just nice.. sounds like a love theme after a while for some crappy hollywood-movie, but hey i dont blame the song its exactly my style. ;D
nice ending. long and sweet.
this is some high quality production, so it's worth atleast a 9, i'll make it 9,5 |

This song is very "nice" for my ears. The melody is gentle as a honney. I enjoy every second of it as much as possible. A bit original. I feel so uplifted as I enjoy listening to it. Itīs like a whole story. After 6:45 it turns out to be my favourite part. Such a gentle flow motion.
I have nothing more to say.
Keep up the good work!!!!!!!!! |

This is like a soundtrack from a sad movie's end. Two very well timed dropouts, first leaves bass alone, the 2nd one just a pad glimmering, intro'ed with revcrash a distant timpani roll. I think the synthstrings fit in well, too. Especially the melody played with a cellosound, very beautiful! I'll enjoy this one for a long long time to come. |

Hey, Andy, another song from you in number one, congratulations! . I have downloaded this one despite this is not my favourite stile, and im going to say what i think about it in just one word PERFECT!!!
For me this one is probably the best chillout track i have heard here in CTG.
Im sure you will stay for long in number one. This track worths it.
The enviromental feeling you created in this one made me thinking in distant paradises, special things and places, when a song makes you feel is because the song is excellent. Ratings support my opinions.
The strings are awesome as well as the samples you use in some melodies. The breaks, everything, cant say nothing wrong.
Congratulations again. MASTERPIECE.
For me 9.5/10.Almost perfect.
Keep it up.
Regards, Proteo |

OK just started listening. The begining is very calm and nice. The chords and harmonics are kind of typical at the begining, but later on the part of vibraphone of some kind comes and it begins to get only better and better. Nice start I wonder how it get's more and more complicated. As for now everything is greatfully mastered.
I can hear the beat greatly upcoming and as it begins to grow it'a superb. Suddently everything stops to make place for the bassline and new variation. Not so moving as the first one was but also very nice. Many changes I can hear, and that's good.
It's time for the melody. It's played very neat and nice by strings. Their sound isn't one of the top but it feels good with the rest. As well as the vibraphone playing in the background... Nice effects and all the stuff. Worth hearing.
Whoa! What a change - really symphopnic sound. As the vibraphone background gets filtered a beautifuul string section comes in. Nice change. Later on it gasps like a khaze nad the vibraphone (some bells) is on the foreground again. Very nice harmonics you did from the first couple of chords. I wish I could hear more sounds like those here.
Hm?? It's the end already. Those unfull 9 minutes ran like hell! That can mean only one thing. This shit is a masterpiece. One of the best I have ever heard here on CTG. One of the best ambient tunes I have heard as well!
Overall the mastering is nice and so are the instruments. Great track and outstanding feeling. You should become a pro . Trully. To be honest I haven't heard many of your tracks but I think that I'm going to change it soon. In my opinion the track deserves 9 and a half. I could describe it only in superlatives. Again great piece of work. I'm very impressed. Keep it up. |

every now and then i stumble upon tracks that deserves more than just a quck comment saying its awesome. this track is what chillout is all about. i enjoyed every second of it. if it was me this track could have been 30 minutes long, without adding anything to it. its a trip that can last as long as it wants. the tune gives you a feeling of being inside a fairytale where all is just perfect. i'm not gonna go into everythin i think N.D did right.. the song speaks for itself.
keep it up ND!

Simple, but so good...
I mean, there's little more than strings and belly synths but you used their full potential!
Loved the melody, the reverbs, the global ambience that definitely let the listener imagine something related to a landscape, immense spaces where to fly.
You said well about the percussions thing: "apparently random", cause they're not and they sound cool too so great job, a nice way to create drumline without using drums themselves!
Again, the song it's simple: do not expect jazzy solos, complex chords variations and things like those but.. just expect a great emotional voyage that it's just one click away...

I turned my amplifer on, set the volume to 12 o clock took a deep breath and closed my eyes.
I must admire that this track plays with my feelings
as it goes far under my skin.
The chord progressions are so damn sad but on the other hand
they lighten a seed of hope.
N.D. somehow found the right balance between these two moods.
Another thing I like is the tension this track creates with its very deep and mysterious parts. And here and then, someone opens a window and lets the sunshine in.
Great track!
Donīt know what to tell more. Go and listen for yourself.

You have a new review!
The intro... Noice strings... The soundscape is nice... but the string chords are a bit trancey np. The lead string comes in... I dunno if it was the best choice for a lead string this sample, but it's up to u... At 1.06 the weird drums in the background are a bit drowned by the other instruments... that might be the only flaw. The bass now comes in... awesome.
Excuse me if I skip ahead a bit, I have to work on one of my songs ...
The melodies definately rule, and so does the ending
Noice song, but the littel bells are a bit too drowned by the other instruments.
Here u go: 9.5 |

Thanks a lot Atlantis! I really agree with you on the bass here, I've been having a hard time with placing it in the mix and as I wanted to get all tracks ready for the album I got too lazy to do some more EQing on the different channels
And the synth strings were actually supposed to sound a little synthy but in the end I was surprised how real they sounded in the climax and actually I didn't like the idea of "real" sounding synth strings in this one either but I just left it that way. And I agree, they sound a lot different in the climax and I was pretty surprised how they sounded more or less real in that part.
Thanks for your advice, I agree with everything you mentioned here |

I've just been listening to it with some simple EQ adjustments, and it already sounds a lot better now. It's quite addictive actually, as I'm supposed to be doing mastering work instead of listening to this. |

Just to bring up a couple of issues on the mixing and mastering that didn't make this piece work so well for me:
The introduction is nice, but the strings sound far too synthy (could be intentional), and the 146 Hz (D3) frequency cuts through really strongly. In fact, all the bass frequencies are far too strong. And what makes this even worse is when the rest of the instrumentation (and in particular the bass) comes in to occupy the same frequency range. It creates very strong clashes. The harmonics of the synth strings are clouded in far too much bass and low-mid frequencies, which really ruins the listening experience for me.
Maybe it's me, but I just don't like the sound of synthy strings that are made to resemble real orchestral strings. You could try EQing them a bit though. Cut a little in the 200 Hz and 800 Hz range, and brighten them a little at 15 kHz. As I said, maybe they were deliberately made to sound this way, but personally I find it doesn't sound that great.
In the transposed section the strings sound a lot better though (unless it's a different sample/synth?), as the 200 Hz frequencies aren't as strong anymore and there's more brightness. The sound is very nice here.
Overall I think it's a reasonably nice piece, but it just has to be mixed a lot better by EQing out certain frequencies on instruments to give them their own placing in the mix, or somewhat fixing these problems in the mastering stage.
Currently I'd probably rate it a 7.5, maybe pushing it up to an 8.0 because of the great climax. Let me know if you'd like a 2005 master of it. |
