Awesome song,
I love it! Although I can only relate to Romanian folk music because that's where I'm from, I love the transition effects. The climax in the middle of the song make it very "rustic" and traditional. I don't know why... but when I listen to it I get this feeling of a Polish polka lol!
Well anyways, it's very clear, a good quality sound, great use of the "achordeon"! You should consider other traditional instruments aswell (banjos and stuff) in the future of course, don't know if you've experimented with that since this is the only track i've listened to so far!
Lovely addition to CTG and a great guy as I've talked to him today! |

This is a real stand alone piece of music - I havnt heard anything else quite like this on CTG.
With a deliciously upbeat and cheeky feel, this tune is a real delight. Utilising traditional leanings and simplistic harmonies, its a very honest, authentic sound that you just cant fail to enjoy.
The interlude at 1:11 provides a great contrast, and, like the previous/main theme, fits perfectly with the overall imagery of the piece.
A small point I would like to mention, is that the general mix would benefit from a more 'live' edge - its a little dry.
However, aside from this, the sound quality is great, offering up all the elements of the tune with clarity and depth.
A brilliant piece of music, full of spirit and personality. |

This is very nice stuff - had me jigging slightly and tapping my foot right from the start! This is very happy and cheerful without it sounding silly. If I was feeling down this would really really cheer me up.
I didn't have a clue what to expect from your music. I'll definitely be checking out some more of your stuff now. I've got a big grin on my face after listening to this!
This has got a great melody to it, and I can really see her cycling down vernoma street! |

Really nice, somehow this song seems to have a 'soul' during the first listening . Made me wonder what kind of a story there is behind the name.
Somehow it's so cute, all traditional instruments, no sound effects or anything unnecessary. A song I'd like to have composed myself.
In my opinion there is a bit too much repetition here, but it doesn't really get boring or anything.
Update - Changing my score, I've listened this song too many times to justify the low rating I gave at the time. |

Okay, now what in the world is 'Vernoma Street'? The name of your new album?
Anyway, I like the name and besides it sounds much like Verona.
So this really is a folk song!!! I never thought there are folk songs at CTG, but here it is!
Dunno what gives it a folk color - the accordion, the chords, the drums? Or maybe all of them? And the melody too... Zepsi, tell us, did you really take folk dancing every Sunday??
Yeah, yeah, I know some details are expected in reviews...
Well, the first part is real visual - cheerful folk melody draws us a picture of her riding a bicycle down this Vernoma Street in shades of a folk accordion and some folk drums supported by chords of piano and guitar (they are not folk, they are quite ordinary piano and guitar).
I can tell you that the melody is very... dunno how to describe it... it's very good. It is a capital letter Melody... I honestly love it!!! And unlike many melodies, it lasts for over a minute, not just like 30 seconds and then repeats.
The second part is slower and is like some variations. It also got water sounds - or maybe that's some folk instrument too? Like this big tube with things in it? Or maybe it means that while riding she also had a bottle of Coca-Cola with her.
The third part is the same thing as the first - the hook, guys.
Well, what can I say? This tune really made my day! They say it was rated ten? It certainly desrves it! I personally, can't rate it lower physically - my hands just won't do it. |

I was also wondering what she's doing at Vernoma Street... is that a water sound? Drinking? Showering? |

awesome what lovely music. although I think we can agree that this isn't a particularly happy, nor simple, song. There's obviously some inner trauma beneath the surface here.
oh, and you stole the coffee cup trick from Mike O |
