Made for Musitaatio compo, where I used the name DJ Rudi.
I had listened to progressive rock so I wanted to make something different. Different meant using chromatic and lydian dominant scales and an unusual time signature, I think.

STRONG POINTS : The positive aspects of the song
  • 1. Strong genre mix
  • 2. Original and catchy
  • 3. Good compositionary drive
SUMMARY : The impression of the song
A blast of a song here, this 'part chip', 'part sequencer sounding' based tune really knocked my socks off. The sound is complete and pro, and it's really catchy with its funky rhythms and melodies. The bassline plays a big role in this production, as the composition pulls us through this fast-paced artwork that just screams 'organ'! The chip-imprint is absolutely noticable, and so is the playful way of totally dominating the soundscape. Apart from some loudness in some of the instruments, and a weak outro, this track is absolutely worth a listen. Overall, good control and strong compositionary direction. Just listen to him make love to those scales.. Pure genious, great work! A good example of musical knowledge put to good use. [rated as chip]

WEAK POINTS : The negative aspects of the song
  • 1. Volume mastering
  • 2. Unimaginative outro
SUGGESTIONS : How to improve the song
There are some more dominant instruments in this track, that need to get their volumes reduced because they tend to dominate the foucs, and thus.. the entire soundscape. Also, the outro really blows.. this could be done ten times better judging from the skill you show in this song. As a pointer, this could easily be classified as a chip.

Thanks Ethelion, can't really call your review a quick one ;) . I'm actually proud of the work with (or rather without) scales, I think I had listened to Dream theater a lot in that time and had to do something original. Wish I could make other songs like this :) .
