Review this song! - Song Reviews (7):

Great overall mixed track. Only piano-part doesn't sound so good for me. But the rest of the track is really a piece of art with loads of variations.

+ Exciting Arrangement
+ Leadsynth
+ Surrounding Soundscape

- Piano part

Overall i think the track is something special. Technically on the top. Better than most of the commercial stuff around! :)

I love the start, with the fade in effect

nice beat :lovemusic:

I really like the synth

the piano is slighly off key and doesn't really go with the synth :lala:

The synth gets evn better after the piano solo ;)

i love the drum solo that mixes the piano solo with the rest

at about 4:11 it goes abit weird :vomit:

then it gets abit boring by the end

overall it is great :dj:

hello :)
kinda standard intro effect, but that's not point... sad and kinda dark atmosphere at the beggining.. lots of thing going in the track, great details.. i think the kick drum should kick a little bit harder. could play with drums a little bit more too :) more variations or something.

now... the piano is flawless, i cant say anything bad 'bout it, trance leads are godd too (the sound and melodies). and here we go 2:40. i like it. great sound. kinda sad and happy feeling, while listening to it. interesting contrast, balance....

godd one!

Greetz,

I agree on the others that the song is crispclean .. on most parts.
and I must say, as usual with songs by u, it appears u put time in every second of every instrument of the song. There isn't really much repeatment, and when there is, u make sure something else is variating ( FX, or other background sounds ).

back to the start, Intro is just lovely, especially the 1st minute. After that a faster bass is added, and a pretty rough synth. Now I like rough or powerfull synths. But not like this, it quite kills the feeling of the intro to just normal trance feel instead of that special touch. Synth or bass with less detune or phasing here would be appraciated ( or at least by me ). At 1:30 I get the feel its getting too long. its just not building enough anymore. Furtunatly the break starts shortly after.

The break: Piano melody is nice, though some notes sound a little out of place for a trance song. also it's too classical to my »» Taste ««. The sample could also sound a little more spacey to me eg. More reverb/delay, phasing, or even weird EQ-ing ? It's a bit too real sounding which gives a imo not-so-good fitting feel to it.
Now there's a synth playing through the piano, and I immiatly hear where the "Not So Easy To Follow", or "Messy" term Espen Talked about comes from ( dunnow if he ment this part though ? )
This new synth melody combined with this piano doesn't really sound blended, or, synced to each other. Some really unpleasant frequenty combinations get out of the song at that point.

After this point there's nothing really to complain about. Only good points now.

The synth that ( IMO ) wrecked the break, get's a nice fitting place here ( still too much detune, but it's not that disturbing here ). FX Variations, melody variations, ambientic pads and strings, building up and down smoothly. And the song flows to the end before realising it.

The melody on the end isn't so disturbing. It really fits the rest of the song to have that melody there. So i'll consider that to the good points as well.

Summary:
Bad:
Synth that is so detuned it can't play 2 notes short after each other without sounding out of tune.

Bad, but not that bad:
Piano feel doesn't fit, it's too real.

ok:
length of each part is good, exept for the intro, it's getting a little long.

Good:
Fading 1 element to the other works really well, there isn't a single point that there's too much or too little in the song.
Beat's also do really well in the song. Good variations, and not attracting too much attention.

Very good:
I would have to say, definitly the FX used and the feeling of the overall song. Typical Randor ;)

I hope u can agree with what I think of the song. But I'm just not in an asskissing mood atm :fucku: :D

Only 2 Revieuws? Strange...
Wanna give my opinion about this one.

First the begin, the Intro is awesome, long and nice.
About 2.00 begins the piano to play and a melody comes up. Nice one. And nice kick'n whit "sprankle melodie" The melodie is easy but in comination with piano verry nice. And uplifting the trance, the way trance should be. At +/-4.00 i am really take into the trance by this track.
Out fading of the track bij 5.00 is relax. The only thing i dont like is the melodie at the end. I'am thinking there is more to come and it only end....

Nice Peace of Trance!

Wow, awesome! The mastering is flawless, the ideas keep flowing, yes, go to a label. Checked out the rps file. I don't have pretty much any refills you used, but still, it gave me some idea as to how you made it. Is Reason 3 all you used, or do you have other mastering software?

What I really love is the simple background melodies, like the one in the intro, with the volume rising slowly. Real nice. I think I learned quite a bit.

10 for simply not being able to find a flaw. :D keep em coming!

Oh My God ! ! !

Just had to say that. But seriously. This track is so god damn awesome. Seriously man, go to a label...

The effect use is just great. I love it. Build up is marvellous. Introducing new stuff all the time. New and at the same time great stuff. When the first "lead" comes, im simply just keeping my mouth open, :O
The piano make me all swetty cause it's so nice. Man this is pure skills. This would sell like nothing else. Jeezes, i can't compliment this track enough. The best track i ever heard. It overcomes everything so far. This is what i call MAD.

Great beat, great drum, perfect power, and outstanding bass. When Espens S say's messy, I say WTF??!! It's not messy at all, it's awesome! Great melodies.

There is only one thing i don't like about this song: It needs and area that have nice strings and relaxing beats and chilly mood. But Overall definetly my favourite track at this very comunity, probably all other comunities.

I like this one, sorry don't have time to say all the things i want to, but how about little reverb to kick drum? (really tiny) It comes little too much inside my head, little too much a part from a song in the beginning in my opinion... anyway, great work man! :)

Randor i cant even play the intro of your song.. My comp to slow. The rps im talking about:P
Can i please have midi file of bassline and main melody? I might wanna do some kinda remix or just mess around with it:)
MemberEspen S [5th. April 18:40] [81.175.0.150]
Well i think you've accomplished your task pretty well ;)

And dont mind me whining :) I'm just picky ;)
Artistedzes [5th. April 18:39] [80.202.58.32]
You've been a bit eager with your use of unison on the sawish lead IMO ;) And I do have to second Espen S on the "not so easy to follow"-part.
But I really like the overall sound.. very pleasant and crisp. Lots of tricks to pick up here, so thanks for sharing the .rps :)
Keep'em coming!
AdministratorRandor [5th. April 18:35] [80.222.194.165]
Oh fellas, thanx for these kind words :excited: About melodies, my aim was really to create bit more difficult scheme and never replay precise melody. I hope that this way it lasts listening :) Synth playing it isn't really what I as after, but ran out of cpu power and decided to bring it daylight as it is now. Gonna redo some mixing things and that lead when have some inspiration
MemberEspen S [5th. April 18:02] [81.175.0.150]
Slog>messy might not be the best describing word... not so easy to follow might be better...
ArtistSlog [5th. April 17:32] [80.213.88.119]
my music is so crappy :crap:
ArtistVoid Pointer [4th. April 20:47] [81.59.31.176]
Life sucks, but this song is truely beautifull.
MemberEspen S [4th. April 20:20] [81.175.0.150]
very nice track... altho i dont really like all of the lead variations you've got!
Makes it a bit messy... other than that, great track :bravo:
