Artist Comment:
This is a remake of my original "Instant of Love", it's pretty much the same, but: This version now sounds real, the quality and realism of the instruments is astonishing.
It's the result of my first effort with Reason 3.0! Finally switching from Modplug to something newer :)

If this song doesn't touch you then you've got no heart.

this tune gave me chills by the third note had played. such gentleness, and careful programming. this is without doubt one of the best, if not the best, tunes to come out of reason.. i am a bit surprised even.

the opening sequence sounds like you are actually sitting in an orchestral hall listening to a performance. perfectly balanced strings section with a beautiful harp setting the mood. the piano comes in and adds to the chord progression.. not in a disturbing way, but sorta just takes your hand and guides you further into the song.

the flute comes in, and once again, it grabs you by the time the third note is being played. amazing! it leads you into a more upbeat section, yet it fits perfectly into the theme of the song.

there are no grand climaxes or timpani explosions in this one. and thank god, there are enough of those. this song tells a story, not an extraordinary one like forrest gump, but a story that we all can relate to, and feel comfortable with.

excellent tune!

I have very strong and deep memories of this song. Some pretty major events in my life danced to its tune, so for me it holds special meaning. Everytime i hear it, it gets better and better. The remake accomplished the impossible: it made the already perfect everything sound even better!! Its really amazing how much diference having different trakers makes....

Im not a composer, just an avid listener, but this tume carries such an unmistakable emotional load, that all one can say is, nothing. No words seem to be enough to express what xTr1m managed to in his song. I believe perfection is achieved when words become superfluous to express a feeling. And this song expresses love so perfectly, that id give it a thousand for a zillion years, and never get tired of hearing it. Unfortunately i can only give xTr1m a 10 for this tune. ;)

The strings in the beginning provide an amazing opening for this song. I love how the other instruments blend in progressively and then take over the tune. The change of strings(main)-piano(background) to piano(main)-strings(background) with the cymballs in 0:18 is amazing. The second cymballs provide a rising, which is completed by the third ones and then climaxed with the inclusion of the flute by 0:45. I love when the piano carries the main melody, as it is one of my favorite instruments because of its versatility, clearness and the skill needed to be able to play it well. The tunes played by the flute *almost always preceded by cymballs*, however, are the most emotional of all the song, as they are the ones that help it evolve into the masterpiece it becomes by its end. I think the second climax of the song by 1:14, when the piano retakes the main melody, is one of exceptional beauty. The strength that the piano conveys makes u think of a bird flyng across oceans, helped by the wind *the flute in this case by 1:26* in a jorney that will only end when it meets the loved one. I also love how the closing notes provide the perfect "landing" for this bird and leave you with high hopes for more.

This song is an impecable arrangement of notes and instruments, a rollercoaster of emotions, instruments and notes spelling perfection. It is proof that simple, and not practice, makes perfect; as the key elements of its beauty are few instruments with unique note arrangement. The best tune produced by xTr1m so far. Keep it up!

This is a very calm, beautiful song with a strong feel of fantasy and orchestral music, performed with flute and piano, and supported by a string ensemble. Being short (a little less then 2 minutes) the tune gives an impression of an overture or an outro of an album.
-sound quality-
High. The sound is very realistic. I wouldn't have been surprised if someone'd tell me it was played live (although I know it wasn't)
-what is unique about this piece-
The melody and the way it is presented has nothing unneccesary, every second and every note are in their place. Xtr1m is definately one of the most amazing melody writers at CTG. Smooth coming in of the piano creates a unique emotional wave that will give you a pleasant shiver.
-I recommend this song to:
most everyone, because, being orchestral, the song has a very beautiful melody which goes above genre admirations.
-side effects-
Effect 1: you may find yourself listening to this tune over and over again
Effect 2: you may want to write a review to it
Effect 3: you may find yourself downloading more of Xtr1m's music and adding his tunes to your favourites like a maniac
Solutions to the above side effects: not yet known

the flute you have in this track is absoultly fantastic, it is so chilled, the piano and string accompany the track very well
it sounds so real and not from a sequencer, its something a bit different from what i listen too but i like your creativity

Itīs incredible for being your first try with Reason.

Indeed :geek: but you chose the easiest and the best option - to remake one of your older tracks.

Clever use of that reverse cymbal swell, <-- a must for this kind of music but here it sounds awesome. At first the harp plays the main theme/melody of the song accompanied with the strings. Those two sound awesome.

The piano didn't sound as good as it should in my ears. It's almost like the piano is played in a wooden box - compared to the rest. Because the harp, strings, flute and cymbal sounds so real. The difference is noticable. I'm not saying it's a bad thing or a good thing. I just noticed.

btw that flute plays a very important part in taking the listener on a journey through the sky, flying over land gliding over the forest, the smell of the sea.. ehem
This reminds me of those old fairy tales, the part where they live happily ever after.. Well..
I have said all i can about this tune. Very good.. no it's great. A must have song, almost perfect, only one minor flaw imo.

what I like about this piece is that it suits perfectly to the title.
It is somehow something one would have had expected.
The feeling is somehow strange, because itīs nce, but sometimes also lonely and depressive. I donīt know if that was your attempt.
Itīs also very strong and would suit perfectly as a soundtrack in a love scene ;) .
I particularly like the "local climax" you build in minute 1:14 with the gong I think. Iīd interpret it as a new stage in love or as a new stage within the night two people loved each other.
The sound of the flute is very real...the only thing that Iīd try is to make an accompainment to the flute in certain passages of the melody it plays.
Itīs incredible for being your first try with Reason.
Great job mate

I was reminded of this song while listening to another song. Nice. :)

Sure, but I'd probably shape them with 6-8 nodes. That, and I don't like the sound of PEQ-2. :)
AdministratorxTr1m [2nd. September 15:36] [84.58.1.91]
;) Two PEQ-2's can help, can they?
MemberAtlantis [2nd. September 13:58] [203.118.142.186]
Re strings, it's not so much muddines, but try to cut around 3.5 kHz a fair bit to remove the woody sound, and try boosting a little around 13-14 kHz for more light brightness. Maybe some warmth around 700-800 Hz, and more body around 200-300 Hz. They just don't sound realistic enough now.

And good luck doing all this with the PEQ-2. :D
AdministratorxTr1m [2nd. September 12:58] [195.212.29.163]
Thanks for the tip Atlantis! Yes, the strings are frustrating. I wish I knew what to do precisely to remove that muddy sounds from the strings. Lemme see if I can find a way.
And thanks for your compliment Loiter Lorry:D

Xtr1m - you're a wonderful composer! THis tune definately goes to my fav!
MemberAtlantis [2nd. September 12:49] [203.118.142.186]
Well, I would've said I have no heart, but I must admit certain aspects here are quite moving. The transition at 1:14 really stands out for me personally (love that piano sound...well, almost), while the rest is kind of average, if not a little dull. But, hey, that's just me. A dynamic range as high as this really gets to me, and the instruments don't sound as good as I imagine they could have either. For the rest though, it's a nice piece.

Anyway, can't have one of my comments without my usual technical blahness, so my suggestion would be to work on EQ'ing your instruments to sound as good and realistic as possible, especially the strings. Try to use shaping EQ to enhance the sound just that extra bit more.

Honestly this isn't my piece of cake in music, but what I can say is that this is a rather nice piece, a tad on the short side, but nevertheless enjoyably. This music makes me think of some enchanting rpg game. It has a fantasy written all over it of course. And I really like the calm an soothing atmosphere... that's about it.. I wish I knew about more about this genre :D
