This is an old OHC (One Hour Compo) entry I remixed. I'm pretty happy with it, just remember that it was all composed and written as you hear it in one hour. The remix bit is largely cosmetic changes to the sound.
It's about a snowflake gaining consciousness just before it melts.
But for a few minutes, it was the funkiest snowflake ever. |

OK, I would like to kick A-Stay in the nuts, but I dont think I will find him. 5.0???? Anyway.. Im tempted to rate this song a 10 just to offset this rediculous score. Anyway....
Elk!! Somehow I never noticed that you had opened an account at CTG, maybe becasue i didnt join until Ocotober or so and you havent been active since way before then. You are one of my favorite artists and I was wondering what ever happened to you. I hope you come back someday and read all my reviews, as I willl probably review all your tracks very soon! Anyway...
Nice flute and strings, usualy elk style only for a second and then you get a little funyk. Sound is a little lo-fi but I know this is oldschool stuff. I dont mind, I like the fuzzy hissy sound somtimes. Percussion sounds pretty good. Everything in the track is very dynamic and organic.. each part is handled carefully and has a personal touch.
By the end I feel sorry for the poor little fella as he melts away gracefully. Strane idea for a song but it fits.. this isnt just some stupid title you thought up that may sound appealing, you really have an idea here and present it well and uniquely.
Anyway I wont try to criticize this work. There is nothing here I dont like, I just have to sit back and listen. I hope more CTG'ers can find your works.. I may spam you a little bit. Alot of people here could take a few lessons from you, you are one of the few actualy "composers" here. Many of use just fight for a melody and try to make it sound nice. You make it sound easy.
Nice work! |

Good arrangement, but I don't think the song is so catchy. All in all it's OK to hear it, but... maybe it's not my style. I don't actually know what you can do make it better. But I must say that the first part sounded better than the last (after hearing just one time.) I don't hear songs more than one time if I don't like them. But keep up the work!!! |
