Well, I think the mixing just isn't good for anything beyond CTG. The track sounds pretty OK though, so I couldn't resist posting it here, and see what you all think.

[.general] a decent progressive and melonchy trance track

[.melody] The layer bit comes in nicely, nice bell synth. The main melody part comes in after a big break later on--it's good and emotional, BUT it's also terribly repetitive. Yeah, I know, it's progressive, but some variation on that would help my ears out a lot. At the very least, a sort of 8bar/8bar trade off between main and chorus (with teh bells) That'd perk up the track a lot. The bell part is memorable, it'll stick in your head, but then it goes all fooey on you.

...

that wasn't the best thing I've ever said, was it?

[.bass] a VERY wide and thick saw like synth takes over the bass end of things, it's nice and heavy. I love that highpass filter sweep you put on it in the transitions :lovemusic: The mix is minimalistic enough that such a wide 'n thick sound actually sounds nice. Although, perhaps a little less bass boost wouldn't be amiss here?

[.percussion] Hmmm. Nice stuff in the intro (actually, very nice stuff in the intro), but then after it drops back in after the second break I'm startin' to miss something here. It's too... formulaic. I thought you had something uber going in the intro, but then it sorta falls flat on its face. Rimshot, toms, ooshy hats, yeah nice samples, but it doesn't do anything.

[.feeling] It's a sort of melonchy trance track. It suits the artist's feelings well enough, but it never soars above the others. The drums in particular suffer--some variation, or a break, or anything, would be more than welcome. Melody is great in the intro, but the main part in the second break just doesn't do it for me. This sounds like a floorfiller to me--harsh, I know, but hey: at least it's a good floorfiller ;)

[.teh score] 7.5 - It could be a great song with some improvements.

Nice track analysis, at the begining it is a very progressive track, what keeps my attention first was the sine syth you introce... then it starts one great bass vey powerfull. The break is very energetic. The track developes a hard atmosphere but maybe the sine synth becomes a bit repetitive... but then... you add more variations to the melody but the base is the same, that makes the track a bit boring in this aspect... but for me this is the only problem that i could fix, excepts this the track is really amazing. Sound quality is superb and it has a lot of imaginative atmospheres where you introduce strange synths that fits a lot into the track. Nice produccion, over all a great job. Congratulations dude.

Great percs, hats etc, sound quality is great, rim, snare, and claps 4tw :P Base reminds me of the BXR family with those big fierce chords totally misleading me to believe were in for some Italian techno. Crashes and revs sound good with the fills, i love killing the kicks at the end of 32, stopping and starting the crowd is not only fun it creates more energy. These jingle patterns are evil first gave me the spooks but soon start to sound slightly more emotional as the patterns change leading to the break infact the track evolves mid way from start creating more of a trancey feeling as it goes.. All is quiet and out of nowhere this tangled lead seems to appear creeping in, its not a hard lead infact one im struggling to define. Its nice and sounds great very fresh and full of warmth as the base returns along this time with some higher pitched jingle patterns, its almost twisted but in a very nice happy/emotional way. Build up from break is a good one and a favourite. Its the lazy let the base solo with the kick while the lead sweeps in and out before releasing the rest of the hats and works well with this, was expecting another kill on the kick before it fully dropped but who cares the track is flawless :) Sound qualiity is great

Notice: I've heard a preview on this song, and remarked on a few things aswell, let's see how the final product turned out!

--Melody--

The melodies slowly fade in, and they give off a good desolate feeling at this point, then the supporting bass comes in and amplifies the mood, nice work with some simple elements! The melody grows a little monotome after a while, and not even some small doodles which are introduced later on, can save it from feeling repedative later on.
Then, another theme comes in, or rather a supportive new theme, and that breathes some life into the song, but sadly not too that much more.

The effects utilized on the synths and the main bass theme fit in a very good way, I especially favour the filtering put onto the bass theme at certain points, making it thin out into nothing, good work!

BUT:

It's a shame the artist didn't include some more melodies like the main theme, because it has a very nice feeling, which later washes out as the theme never progresses into something other.

--Percussion--

The drums that the demo version had, are still there, and yes the same applies for those still : they have a nice selection of sounds, however these sounds only form a basic groove which later on should develop into something more expansive to accomodate the feeling that's added onto the song. But, these drums stay fairly standard throughout the whole tune, and they never blossom into something which one could hope would get the tune rocking!

--Overall Impression--

This tune is good in the sense that it starts off with a melody that breathes "desolate, deserted, death", however it never progresses into something else, which means that the emotion one feels at the beginning of the track, one won't feel at the end of the track.

[A nice attempt at making something emotional, which fails due to lack of variation]

I can't see anything wrong in this song, bass was taken care smoothly and oher details like bases, bells, pads, synths..

The songs changes when bass comes, the atmosphere was great then, bells help it to make a dark and very progressive atmosphere like the best songs I heard. It's really incredible that was made with a tracker.. I thought that anyone can make a real professional track with a tracker, but this is the fact that's posible.

Only thing I can tell you wrong is that's too similar than a track of ferry corsten, you need to improve melodies and take care take more care in stereo image in your next tune.

All the rest is simply amazing!! good tune mate!

A great Progressive trance song. Big badass bass, bouncing kick, uplifting percussions and hats. Very very good, just too "short", i can bitch also on the lack of themes, but anyway, this song is very enjoyable. 8/10 for me, at least

Nice track. If you could arrange a bit the built up maybe could have a great song here. but there are some aspects you should take care specially in the transitions. I like a lot the sound quality and the track has a lot of quality in general...The bass is very good and eq...But i think you would need to work a bit more in it if you were looking for a release.
Overall: good production but need a bit more work. :)
Congratulations. 8.25/10 for me in CTG.

a mediocre track imo. has some awsome elements and ideas, and some not so good.
and i also feel this is a bit too minimalistic for my taste.
