Moonraker 2005

Many of you know this movie with James Bond 007 ;) . The story is about exploring and settling the new planets in our Solar System and the space between them. Space elevators, starships.. it always makes me inspired to write something about it.

Please note this song is a simple ambient-trance song, it's very loooong and simple - like it should be, and like... the space is.

Thanks for listening..

well... I've already commented, and added it to the favourites some time ago, but I've been listening to this track over and over again, and it amazes me how a 16 minutes track can be so relaxing.
And like the others said. You manage to make those all 16 minutes of interest.
So, I had to make a little review.

Nothing much to say about this sound. I simply love it.
The conversation from 3:30 to 4:30 fits very nicely in the mood.
The only think I noticed that I can complain (just a little), it's the transition from when the voices end, at around 4:30. Seems to strong and sudden. Maybe a smoother transition, like the way you presented the voices at 3:30

Then comes my favourite part... The middle of the song... from around 7:30 to 10:30.
I can't express what I feel when I'm sitting alone, in silence hearing it with my headphones. Makes me dream. Travelling trought space... ;)

The quality, the sounds used, the ambient, an absolute 10....

This will be a short review :)

The song starts with a nice choir chant, and some sfx. Then, at 0.17 the basic arrangement starts. The bassline/synthline are minimalist and tranceish. Then, a strange synth is added over them. Very kewl :)

Then, an incredibly good pad sample is introduced. Afterwards, I can hear a small bell melody. Then, a cut-off beat is put in, which then is completed (that sentence sounds like :crap: )

Meh, what more to write?...

What should you expect from this song? Lush pads, nice atmospheres, minimal melodies, many little riffs and such.

This is what Pink Floyd would sound like transplanted in trance

Agreed with xerxes, this deserves a 10!

(I'm in a hurry again, so this review sucks)

The final analysis
arrangement 9/10
bass 9/10
beat 9/10
creativity 10/10
drums 9.5/10
feeling 10/0
melody 9.5/10
samples 9/10
skills 10/10
sound 9/10
structure 9/10
quality 10/10

ambeam does it again, and establishes himself once and for all as the premiere ambient artist on CTG! this piece is nothing short of breathtaking and a must download for anyone who likes well developed chilltrance.

sixteen minutes and 17 seconds of carefully processed sounds, little melody riffs and hauting basslines, topped off with a pulsating and addictive beat. this music takes you to a different place. and once you are there you are given a chance to explore this place to the fullest without being tossed right back to the "real world".

the piece doesnt force ideas into your head. its gives you just enough space to become part of the music and create your own ideas around it. this is not easy to do without the music getting boring. i think ambeam balanced this aspect perfectly.

so without further ado, i'm just going to rate this as a 10 and hope as many people as possible get to hear this wonderful tune.

awesome ambeam!

I'm having a fairly hard time coming up with something constructive to say about this track. I should just leave a comment, but this really merits more than just a mere comment!

Although it's over 16 minutes long, this song actually manages to not be boring! That alone, in my opinion, is a sign of something really good. You manage to manipulate the atmospherics just enough to envelop the listener in an ever-evoloving and beautifully relaxing soundscape. The slow beat and bass really are the backbone of this track, driving the track forwards to an excellent drumbreak section at 12:25 - my favorite part.

The mix is quiet, but it should be. It's also a bit bassy, but I think that works in an ambient track. It's very mellow sounding and avoids being harsh on the ears.

Great work.

Pozdrawiam

For any of you wanting to download that song and got the same "random text" looking page:
1. Download ...save the file (probably will be fileName.htm
2. Should be a 17 MB download(...ogg is actually a memory dump file type...)
3. after download rename extension from htm to .ogg
4. use a converter to change to desired format (i use .mp3

Hey, I love this track. I just heard it last night on Digitally Imported. I've tried downloading the track, but it doesn't seem to work. It brings up a page full of random text. Bad link? I really would like to have this track.

I really like the track, but maybe there'ssomething I'm doing wrong? I cannot download it as I get: "Not Found. The requested URL /ambeam/AmBeam-Moonraker2005.ogg was not found on this server."
Any help?

Absolutely fantastic!!!
It is a song like a painting, everytime you see something else. A painting is actually a mirror, and so is Ambeam's Moonraker 2005 song.
