The Watchmaker's Dream
------------------------------

Part 2: Sleepwalking Down Vernoma Street (02:04 - 03:47)

Fourth piece of music from Vernoma Street.

I usually don't bother to do reviews of songs anymore seeing as I'm so inactive these days. Also it would perhaps be ethically wrong to review songs made by my lifelong best friend and former neighbour.
With that said... Listening through this piece of music impressed me to a much greater extent than anything has in a damn long while.

The first part is what it is; an intricately woven melody in a strange coalition of acoustic and synth sounds. Mad and rampant in one moment, then soaring with beauty. The drumtrack is well executed and adds life to this song in a wonderful way. Catchy. The feel is similar to that of the other Vernoma Street themed songs and equally memorable.

The second part is brilliant. The melody gains a vibrant feel full of story-telling. The slow pace and the solid background rhythm seems to be forcing your full attention. Near the end the song grows on you and, alas, it's time to hit play again.

To me this song sounds like something very close to perfection. The symbiotic way the acoustic, warm and live feel meets the electronically engineered sound seems unsurpassed.

The only thing I can manage to be critical about is that it will feel short simply because it offers new musicality every second it is playing.

What can I say about this song? Great balance between progressivity and melodicity. The first part is a real beauty, the melodies are really my style and I find nothing to complain. I also like the way piano is used there. The second part is a more blues-style. It surely is great, with a nice melody, but I'm not perfectly sure about mixing these styles in one song, therefore -0.5

Overall, it has to be the best thing I've heard in CTGmusic since the first part of Vernoma (at least). I wish there was more music like this in the world.

With this series of music that mr Zepsi is currently pumping out, I'm seeing a side to his music which is really astounding me... While Zepsi has always been one of the scene's real gems, I cant help but think to myself that he's really outdone any of his previous workings.

If you've heard any of the other pieces in this suite of music, the first thing you'll notice, it follows the soundscape of 'vernoma street' perfectly, yet without showing any signs of going over the 'same old same old' which almost inevitably happens when trying to keep within a particular theme. This is a big plus for this current tune in this nice theme that is Vernoma Street!. The more and more I hear of this Vernoma Street, it sounds like THE place to be :) . Back to the music though.... What we have is a sublime piece of music, which has fantastic arrangement, from start to finish. Melody wise, you'll not be disappointed with whats on show here, for the meoldys are f***** brilliant. Those FX in the background sound familiar too... if I'm not mistaken, its a horse drawn carriage?.

Overall, this piece is a brilliant, not just musically, but technically too. Each element is clear and audiable, whilst evoking the real feel of this 'Vernoma Street'. I swear, I'm almost there ;) . No pictures are needed, the music, each piece, not just this evokes the image of this street brilliantly :) .

Like all Vernoma Street music previously released by Zepsi, this one has this wonderful folk feel and the accordion is there too.
The piece can be roughly divided into two parts. Part first has a lot of variation, so much of it that I couldn't remember any definite theme once I listened to it first couple of times. The second part has a more catchy theme.
This song leaves a strange feeling with me. The melodies are nice, they are rich. Yet the whole tune is very calm, although all the melodies are ardent and sometimes even ironical. This weird mixture of both action and deliberation is very disturbing, in a good way, of course.
Overall, the more we get into Zepsi's Vernoma Street music, the more specific and at the same time more special it gets. "She's Riding Her Bicycle Down Vernoma Street" is a catchy lil' tune, next couple of tunes get more specific and less mainstream. This song is something that you need to listen to like 5 times untill you get it, but once you got it, you'll love it!
I advice everyone to download this tune and give it an unhurried listen.
I rated this song a 10, since I can't even consider a lower rating. There would just be no reason for a 9.5
