Artist Comment:
Finally starting over fresh. I think my style has changed a bit since Out of the Fire, and because of this, I want to compile it on a new Album. So here you go, folks. Fresh from the newly redefined Korobase comes Feelings. Enjoy!

And please Review/Comment!

With the exception of the "reverb" comment I agree with what BlackHole has said... Feelinks is a nice track without any quality that makes it a standout.

I don't agree the song needs more reverb. Reverb can be overused (I'm very guilty of that). The song has a very flat feeling, but I don't think reverb is going to do anything to fix that.

The song starts off with your standard trance beat. The beat in general needs to get "mixed up" a bit, but especially at the beginning just to create interest. This song does that, but something about it feels forced... Here's some excitement, but it isn't really exciting. It's flat. Maybe it's that the samples are weak, or maybe I've heard that pattern a million times before, or maybe there's just nothing that pops. I think the right thing here is that it goes by quick.

We then get your standard trance bass line. Hey, it sounds like it's got some reverb on it Black Hole. Some automation would be nice over here. Slowly bring it in with a LP filter...

OK I've had a revelation. You can have the same 4-4 beat go throughout an entire track and it can work without any variations, but the lack of variation has to have purpose. If you just have a bass drum and slowly bring up the bass it can be quite ominious.

There is nothing in this song that sets up a mood or feeling. It seems to be going through the trance motions.

There are several good points to this song. To keep things interesting the song keeps changing. It doesn't feel that way, but if you listen to the song every 10 seconds there is something new going on. Why it feels unvaried is because once an element comes in it does change much or at all. That's pretty standard in trance music, but then there are all sorts of LFOs and automation to keep it interesting.

The most positive points of this song is it's attempt to set up a simple melody. I like the lead instrument and the melody it plays, it almost sounds sad (Hey the song is called Feelings). It would be nice if it had a second part (or more).

It would be nice if there were sudden changes of energy, or if I was suddenly shocked.

Conclusion: A lack of polish, which is what I think Blackhole meant about Reverb, keeps this from standing out.

REEEEEEVEEEERRRRBBBBB!

The lack of reverb is particularly glaring in this track, everything sounds unrefined and dry. The synths and drums themselves are nice, and the production and mixing, as far as I can tell, is decent. The melody is highly repetative and not very interesting, however. I think I hear some potential in the bassline, but the song really doesn't pull everything it could out of it.

While the drumline is nice, it has absolutely no variation whatsoever, and it gets really fatiguing by the end of the song. In the breakoff middle section, the solo by the synth would have benefitted from some echoes to enhance it. A stronger arpeggio would have helped as well. The song doesn't seem to create enough tension before resolving it, and so it doesn't really have a lot of power to it.

Overall, the song is far too repetative, and can even get boring in a few spots. I suggest messing around with melodies a lot more to keep your listeners hooked.

Thanks to both DDtMM and Blackhole.

I'm planning on doing several versions of this song (hence the "Original Mix" part), and I hope I can maybe make one of those stand out a little more.
