Wanted to start out a positive topic where we could suggest things to change, add, or subtract from CTG. This topic is for people who have ideas... not problems! So if you have nothing to do but complain.. you can use the "CTG Sucks" topic.
I had this idea for the song section on the artist page. Here are the points:
Since the number system on the left side of the songs don't really have anything to do with anything (excpet telling the number of tracks in total, an artist has their own number system as we know... and songs are re-ordered by the artist to their own liking.. so these numbers dont really correspond to anything! ) ... I say remove them. And instead show the total number of songs in the info box at top along with downloads, reviews, etc.
Since many artists re-order their tracks ( and just as many don't ) it is hard sometimes to find the newest track.... oldest track etc... becuase using the mouseover on the images is slow! Since their is enough room under the song title.. why not include the release date... or a custom date the artist can change ( in case they are releasing very old material! )
I would like to see dividers that an artist could move up and down the list the same way they reorder their tracks! These dividers could be created by the artist so they could "group" their tracks the way they want to! ALso a URL could be used on a divider to point viewers to maybe a "bonus" collection of tracks they have not released at CTG!
I created an example of what this would look like... so here it is:
OK. Your turn

I think this is a good idea too.
It can be used for different things, one is as you did, for seperating songs by program which you used to make them, but also people could use it to do "album" collection. So this is something which was just added on the "to do" list , only the bottom url is something i probaly will not add since you can use your artist description for urls, or you could do it in artist news. |

That's cool! Maybe if you just left the dividers open to accpet URL's though... could be used for something cool somebody else may think of. |

Good points obScene, especially the info about the release date. That's what I've always been looking for when I wanted to find the newest track...

This was at approximately 0:38 on 7 November if this helps you find the problem. |
