I'm starting to think if we don't mess things up too much. Maybe it should all be that clear:

* if someone writes good reviews, we should expose and promote their reviews
* if someone has good music, we should recommend the music.
* if someone has interesting artist news, they should appear on the main page.

Now it's slightly different: those who write reviews have their songs promoted, those who have interesting songs aren't promoted at all.

Just wondering, what the public opinion on this is.

Agree with that. Promot good music to.

The dangerus thing though is to choose what is interesting music?
based uppon reviews? Will it all be trance tracks then?

If that ever happens (promoting music), there should be special people assigned to judge and choose. I wouldn't trust ANY kind of automated system.

Neither would I

But it will still be just a fews opinion. Is there really any way to be really & truly objective? Maybe. But it will be tricky to.

now that sounds very good..
i'm also one of you who doesn't trust automatic systems at all, so all of these interesting news, good reviews and good songs, need to be chosen manually.. well do the admins have time for this?

to make sure the good songs are objectively chosen, i think there should be 2-10 people choosing them, and there has to be more songs chosen than just 1/month.. that way you definatly get good songs..
and also there would be good songs for all tastes.. plah... hard to make my point again.

anyway what my thread's point is, is that i agree with you cooth and wiseman..

Hmm, I know this comes close to the chart and rating system but what if everyone could cast a vote for each song "recommend/don't recommend". If enough people voted it could be considered to be on the front page. Of course the proportion between recommend and don't has to be considered, too. I think it might actually work, just look at the Best rated Songs, most of the tracks (with more than just one or two reviews) are really high quality.

While workin on my new homepage I had an idea... not sure if it's a good idea though :) .

But I think it would be cool if Ace could create a "snippet" of code that anybody could copy and paste into their website that would allow CTG Radio to be broadcast from other places than just CTG. Just imagine if all the CTG members had CTG radio on their page... then maybe we could get other music related sites to do the same!!! Could be a great way to spread the CTG Gospel!!!!!!

Ace, is this possible ?? Or would this cost money, bandwidth etc? ( Maybe even pay a montly fee for the service :) )

Im not totaly sure what do you mean.
You would like to see clickable "song - title" linked directly to the radio i guess? That is possible indeed, i would just have to write a little script, but since the idea is nice i will add it on the "to do" list

I'm not sure if we have to manually choose and recommend songs. I heard not long ago (maybe in this thread) that we can add favourite tracks on our artist page (or something?) ... In that case it shouldn't be hard to let some kind of system, that automaticly "feel", which songs that is selected the most. See what I mean..?
