When comparing CTG to other archives, you can always see one major difference. Here on CTG there are few downloads. When I uploaded a song to MPC I had one song that had like 1000 downloads, and here on CTG I don't even have 50 on 1 song. TIS had the most downloads on sings, because it was so popular, but MA and MPC still have more downloads.
I think this is a sad thing, I would like other that just want to download music to find this site. This gives us the opportunity to have some comments from ppl that dont know much about songs and just tell us their feelings about the track. I really like comments like this, they are very important for me.
I wonder how we can change this, and what we do wrong. Is CTG entered in all search sites for instance? Should we ask some of the webmasters from MA or MPC how they did this?
There would be just one minor flaw when we will have like lot of non-artist persons on thi website. They could all just get a member and start reviewing, and I don't think we want that. It might be a good idea to make sure that only artists do the reviewing and everyone can do comments. This would also solve obScene's problem in another thread BTW.

CTG doesn't have much members yet compared to other sites like reasonstation. I think this is because you can't upload your song here. Not always easy to find some webspace without limitation or registration.
I also think MPC and TIS had more downloads because of the source files. Almost everybody was uploading an XM file instead of an mp3. People were able to learn with every downloaded song. What can you learn with an mp3? Just NOTHING. You can just wonder how it was made.
Upload a source file and you will get your download....... At least that's what I think

nah, that's not true. HM had lots of persons that looked and downloaded. Somehow ppl were able to find the site. Also mp3.com has lots of downloads too, and everyone there downloads mp3's.
I only want downloaders that don't need to learn because they don't make music themselves. The probelem is, how do we get those here?

I think a continously running radio can do a lot for the site. If visitors can get an impression of what's going on here with just one click that's good promotion. And it will get people downloads when someone hears something he enjoys.

I think, tho im not an expert, that the site has to be somehow redesigned a
bit if you want popularity ( I think somebody proposed that already somewhere else )
As title proposed, it is a COMMUNITY page at this point, NOT an archive of songs.
First thing i think could be changed is to bigger the genre list on "music" page
(in pixels not number of genres  ), or/and , move/copy it to the "home" page.
I think this would have helped a little at last

The problem with CTG at the moment is that there are a very few active artists , and there aren't schocking downloads from "regulair visitors" .
Basicly there are always the same people active , always the same who download stuff , but what about our normal visitors ? I think that's the goal right ? Get you rmusic heard ?

Well in some weeks i will have a faster connection and then maby i can play songs at the radio. thats only if it is okey for ace....is it ace??
well but i would need some learning and some tips and clues how to do that.. well send me an private message if you have been on the radio before and can give me some tips and some info.....
