http://www.cbc.ca/gfx/photos/shuttle_brk030201.jpgToday at 9:00 AM over the airspace in Texas, United States, the shuttle craft Columbia broke apart upin re-entry. The seven members of the flight crew are assumed dead with little chance of esacpe from the 20,000 km/h speed at which the craft entered the atmosphere. Commander Rick Husband,

The crew were as follows:

Willie McCool
Michael Anderson
Kalpana Chawla
David Brown
Laurel Clark
Ilan Ramon

Ilan Ramon was the first Isreali astronaught to fly a space mission. All of these people's families have been devestated by this terrible tradegy.

I feel condolence to families  Even every day people get killed all around the world, seems obvious that emphaties are those 'innocent's' side......wich is good ofcource. But starving to death is not nearly so heroistic than death over 50km heights...

:eyes: Talks nonsense :blah:

While I agree that there are many thousands of people that die for any given reason on this earth and perhaps by comparing it to that scale seven lives is not much, I don't agree that we shouldn't pay this much attention. Last time a shuttle craft blew up the space program was halted for an entire year. There's also the factor of how the heck they are going to get the people in the space station back to earth. This will also effect politics as we know it globally. This is a good time for Bush to ease off and focus on something else if he has realized he has made a mistake with Iraq. Also China has set a date to launch their first maned space shuttle into space in 3 years. This means that whule NASA is held back, China has the upper hand.

This may not be about lives. But it's about history and how it repeats itself.

heheh , no this is about american politics that want to be the biggest in everything , iraq , nasa , korea , nam ... etc etc .

What I am trying to say is that a bunch of space flyers that were killed is a very bad thing ... but not something to get some worldwide attention for days ... like it is some another national ramp .;.... Just look at the middle east where evryone is shooting everyone to death ... you see anything USEFULL about that on TV ? NO !

I don't have anything against amercians .... but just a little against how the american politics and president act .
