I said "I believe" which means it's my estimation, and I said 99%, which leaves a certain margin you may belong to.  |

I don't get the point here... what should he write? "Oh please, come back to the CTG, don't do that to us, we miss you so much"? Should he write that to all people who leave or just to the good producers?
But seriously, I realise it's sad when people leave and we should do our best so as to keep them active and happy here but when somebody leaves, it's their business and their decision. So XG left. If he wants to, he will come back. |

amazingly well said! i've spent 6000 words trying to say this
so why not just open the floodgates? let everyone review and rate as they like. when a new song gets 4-5 downloads, something is wrong. it means ppl are leaving the site.
and i have to admit, i lost interest as well. too much politics, too many restrictions. too much trance (yes, i cant stand trance, i hate hate hate it).
but i stick around. i feel for ace, all the hard work, all his dealing with our bitching and complaining.. i admire him for that. yet, that doesnt change what happens to the site.  |

yeah you are right...
one reason why this finnish site mikseri.net is working is that it doesn't expect too much from the listener...
if you just want to give a quick rate to song, then you can.. and there is no real pressure on the value of the rating... (7 is nice, 6 is ok blah blah)
everyone rates what they want and if you happen to get a 6/10 there, you usually check the artist's average rating, and might even notice that it's 5.something and you are above average then
also the ratings go from 4 to 10... so the rates come more realistic...
if you get a 4 here, you right away think it's bad, even though it's almost average..
anyway in mikseri.net artist can comment like "hey i liked this, make some more" or deeply if they want to, that's why you do get more attention there.. nobody goes removing your ratings, and you do not have 100pages of info to read before you review..
and when the people get less and less here, it becomes less and less important to be here... why the hell would i post a song if nobody downloads it. well from now i think i remove every song that doesn't get downloads, i belive until christmas i have 0 songs left

| a98 - This site has some problems (but that's not big problems imho), but I think this site is much better than any other scene related site out there today. You maybe get 100 more downloads at ModPlug, but not a single comment in return (unless you know somebody), imho thats much more boring.. Here you actually recieves feedback and that is very nice I think. I get many reviews in just a few days for instance, and I dont have to inform anyone. But maybe I'm wrong and blinded here? |

I just release here on ctg AND on mpc, in this way I can have lots of downloads + nice feedback. But since the reviews have to be 'better' now, people are only gonna review less. Because they're afraid to have there review deleted and/or are to lazy to write reviews based on the review rules.

Has anyone gotten a comment yet that said: "Great song! 8/10" or something like that? I think we need to promote the comment section. I feel one doesn't like to write this in the comment section coz you could just write a few more words and make a review. But then you reconsider and write nothing at all  So if for every song you download you write a one or two sentence comment...  That could really do something. Let's promote the comment section!
