Does somebody know if there are some good music creating tools for Linux?

I plan to install Linux in a couple of days. I won't give up Windows (at least for some time), but I would like to know about Linux music tools

I want to know about everything connected - sequencers, trackers, MIDI software, sound editing tools etc.

Do DX plug-ins run on XWine? And is there a chance of running Renoise on WINE?

Yay! Another linux guy. :)

Yeah, I'm interested in this thingy too. Linux doesn't seem to be a very musician-friendly system, at least at first sight. :) Surely there is some soft, don't know if it's any good though. :) I am in Linux right now, but I haven't tried to find any music soft here so far.

I guess many questions you may have are possibly answered in the Linux Audio Users Guide. I haven't had the time to read it, but looks rather promising. :)

Ah ok I misunderstood you :)
I just got into Renoise recently, after using FT2 for 7 years... So it wasn't hard to understand it, and all this functions; it's like a dream come true and I love it!

I found a post on Renoise forum saying that it should work on Linux.

Have you ever used Swami? Apparently it's very very good. Full multi-track sequencer with midi support.

I'll try it, but I don't like MIDI and a sequencer is for me only a part of full music-production gear. I also have full Renoise for which i payed for and I would really like to use it in Linux.

Any good sound editors for Linux?
