I have sound forge 6.0 and I just can't seem to find a really good compression tool that doesn't cost like 500 dollars. The compressor I really want to use is t-racks, but I don't wanna pay any dam money eheh... Anyone know where I can find a really good free compression plug-in?

I suppose you mean mastering? You need also some other instruments like limiter and good eq.

Now i'm not familiar with Soundforge, but if there is compressor, you should seek either is it multiband compressor or not. CoolEdit's (wich I use) compressor isn't multiband but you can choose frequency range affect to. It's pretty hard to use in mastering since you don't hear result right away.
About T-Racks, it's good finalizer if you use compressors in your mix, like on basses and drums. That way you don't (necessarily] need strong multiband compression to finalize, just slight limiting and equalizing ;)

Mastering isn't compressing , and compressing isn't mastering.

I suppose you seek for some vst plugins from timeworks and waves , It's what I use pretty often .

But those are expensive!

Better go here and download the effect pack. It's free and you can find a multiband compressor, limiter and standard compressor there.
