Ok, now let's think about web structure, what is unnecessary and what should be added.
It's mostly about widgets (pools for example) and things like diary, blog etc.

The basic structure is already done (the menu), so the pulldowns. We have to think about subpages and widgets we want to see in future CTG website.

Do you have any thoughts?

I was hoping we can port everything over to the new site. It makes this site have more to explore and adds to the features.
Do you also plan to recode the forums? I have a few ideas for them if you do.

I actually gave this a thought just the other day. I went through most of the features we have here, in search of something we should/could leave out from the possible new website.

Pretty much all of the current features are necessary or something we could start using again. So my opinion is that we should import all the features to the design.

Of course this is just me :)

My quick thoughts:

Links - out
CTG daily compo - out
News - less space, only 2-3 latest
ROTW - out from news, might be a smaller indicator on the home page
More space on the homepage should be devoted to music and reviews. Latest reviews, latest songs by genre or something like that.

Reviews/comments should have a thumbs up/down option, so ppl can agree with the review or not. Songs that have a high grade from reviews with lots of thumbs up should be displayed on the front page, for a while. I guess the front page should have a most popular song of this month/week section.

In this way, it is easy to find good music, and that is very important since every artist wants to gain listeners. In turn, we could make it such that reviewers who constantly get loads of thumbs up write new reviews with a highlighted area or such..

Anyway, this is just an idea, feel free to not implent or disagree or discuss.

EDIT: Generally, I agree with Cooth. :)

Ok, got it. This month I'll start working with Symfony2..

And once again, if anyone is interested, you can join me and do the part of work for CTG (player mostly, I'm certain this gonna need some flash work)..

Thanks,
AmB.

Not too sure I like this. I hate to be contrarian, but people have different opinions on music. It's entirely subjective. If someone really likes a song and a few people don't, they are going to rate that review down because that person was open about his opinion not to mention taking the time to write a positive review only to get ripped on.
