I wonder if a better production would actually lower the chances to win since it is a contest opened to everybody and a super pro production would actually cause it to be somehow considered too good to take into account.

So you reckon that if you make a song with awesome melodies, lots of emotion, great soundquality and a beautiful soundscape, that this will harm your chances of winning? Where is the logic behind that? Is the jury more interested in songs that are complete crap?
edit: it would be nice if you could post the a link to the original contest page, if we can read it ofcourse...

| Sounds like a queer idea to do that kind of calculation. I'd say enter with your best work or skip the contest if you think it's not appropriate for your level. |
