Traktor DJ Studio 3 counts the bpm, too.
I doubt that it's always accurate, but when it says 70bpm and I know that it's a Trance song it's 140bpm.
It's nearly impossible to count the bpm correctly, because I can make a song at 70bpm that sounds exactly the same as 140 bpm when I half the lenght of the notes and the gaps between the notes.

I don't think there is a piece of software written just for that lol. I know Virtual DJ has one. I don't see how one could be inaccurate lol.

The other method (silly but works) is to put your song into a pattern in your DAW with metronome turned on (so you can dynamically change the speed and then find your bpm) :) .
Everytime I'm going to make a remix I set the speed this way...

For ex, Reaper has a function where you can tap a key on the keyboard to find the right BPM. So you would in this case just add the song to a track, play it, and tap the BPM manually.

Reaper has a 30-day full evaluation possibility on its download. After that, you are prompted to pay the $60 the program costs if you are intending to continue using it, which you can. And the small payment is well worth it. The filesize is only about 6-10 MB big to download, so not waiting time either.

60 / time (s) * beat count = BPM. The more beats the more accurate, but 16 or 8 should suffice.

Just play the track in an audio editor and note the amount of seconds during the amount of beats you count, then use the formula above to find the BPM.
Put an end to the loudness war. Don't limit or compress your mixdown until mastering; leave the master channel alone.

Contact me for mastering.
