Yes that is true , but if you do it that way you will never get rid of the "fruity sound" or "reason sound" .... why ? Because you render 1 file trough the (for example) "fruity wav render system" ... and you get 1 "fruity" wav ... which contain the "fruity"sound .
To gather a much clearer "not fruity" and more pro sound , it is a must to edit every track outside fruity (or reason or whatever you use) , so every track will sound different then the "fruity wav render sound" ... and it will all play together in a clean atmosphere the software you use to open those wavs in ....
Fruity and Reason tracks (and buzz and and and) are very recognizable , but they are less recognizable when thjey are mastered in the way I disribed .

I have to say i dissagree a bit with your statement. The problem mentioned about fruity studio or reason is not its render, since when i render my wav it sounds exactly the same as the song i was working on it. Every good render will produce you the sound which will be identical to what you heard in program. But yes i guess reason has its own sound couse of its own effects and maschines, cant say that for fruity since you can use any vst you want in it so basicly no outside mastering would be needed for fruity. But from reason if you want different sound you should do it on the way mark said, to export it track by track and do some outside reason effecting.
But in case if you wanna use software like t-racks which you only have as stand alone program then there is no other way then to export tracks and run them in t-racks and then you can use any audio tool to mix them back together..acid is good for this since you can play them simultaniusly, i use sound forge for it where i just open all the wavs and simply mix (copy paste) one over another after effecting.
So the moral here would be if you have all the effects avaliable directly in frutiy there is no big reason to do extra mastering using this same effects in some audio editor. But if you would have chance to do some real hardware mastering that is different |

well that's just a bunch off bullshit... the wav export system doesn't make the sound it's the synths and samplers and effects you use...
i have personally tryied vsti instruments and samplers with logic and fruity with same patterns and the export result is exactly the same
the only way the fruity sound or reason sound is when you use the synths in them...
3xosc and ts404 will give you fruity sound and subtractor and maelstrom will give you reason sound...
also fruity's sampler has this weird own sound, and it doesn't get the samples clear and surface enough...
but if you use vsti sampler and synths there is no way you get any "fruity" or "reason" sound... that's just bullshit, and you know it

You don't understand me ....
yes the wav render will sound the same like you hear in the program.
So FOR THAT REASON you need to edit every single track to get rid of the for example "fruity" sound .... to reach a pro sound and do mastering like it is supposed to be .
And if you are lazy like you ace , it is no big deal and you just render whole song
And what I tried to explan is how mastering is done with hardware , in a software way ...
It is just what result you want to have that's all .

t-racks is a mastering program, and you work with the master file with it...
so you don't use seperate tracks in it you use the whole exported song in it.
one reason why a lot of people use acid or something to regonstruct is since they don't like the sequencer or that their cpu power ends, loops save a lot of power..

you are totally lost, you have read too much bullshit of artist who use for instance buzz or reason and then load the final mix to protools to make it a protools touch..
yes if one has hardware for mixing, it might be done there, just like you said, track by track and hardware effecting..
the thing you mean only works with reason only...
the so called "reason sound" comes from it's synths, delay reverb etc..
and yes maybe if you would export all tracks and effect them in protools it wouldn't sound reason anymore... but it would sound protools
but do you honestly thing everyone can affor protools or hardware mixing...
and then, if you use reason and cubase, or flstudio... which both have vst plugs... you can use such software effects as waves reverb and reverbx... and other effects which are the best software effects there is...
so why the hell would i load my track to protools and use the same effects plus pay some more cash...

Okay, okay... wait a minute.
My system isn't exactly top notch. So what I do is first work on my samples and sounds. After that I use them in FL so I have to use minimal Fruity FX. Because that eats CPU.
So now I have my track finished. I recall some stuff about compressing and EQ'ing and how this makes certain sounds more distinguished from others.
So I thought I load all my seperate tracks (almost) into Cool Edit, get some info on this EQ and compress business and have a go. Maybe tweak some more sounds because in Cool Edit I feel I can do more with it without totally screwing up the sound.
Should I load the tracks seperately or just one big wav file?
And, come to think of it, does conversion to 32 bit make a big difference? |

Load all the wavs and edit them in CE, than make a mixdown and edit it. It's the best way to get the best sound, but it requiers much work. It's your choice what to do, but some mastering things always have to be done (like compressing, limiting the whole song).

Only if the song is veeery quiet. Don't know how to explain here how this works, try searching for some materials in the Internet. Generally bigger resolution will increas the quality, but you can get hearable results only with a very quiet signal.
