Yes my favourite song from the compo won... Contratulations to xerxes!
I got a really wonderful (another) revenge review from Matias Lehtola though, which ruined my 2nd place (or maybe even the 1st place, dont feel like counting exactly)... It is a really obvious revenge review anyway, it just doesn't make any sense to me. Thanks a lot! |

But Kricke, don't be too hard on Matias as I don't think it's an obvious revenge review. That lead really did make the ears bleed and all emotions in George Michaels original singing is totally lost in the melody. I think 5 points (average) is a fair review. |

Well, even if my song didn't deserve to win or not, Matias still hates me and this link http://www.ctgmusic.com/ctg/topic.php?id=1342&page=2 is another proof of that. And that was his motivation for ruining a bit for me. It takes a fool to not see that. |

Now Matias Lehtola may be pissed off with you for giving him low score, but to accuse him of revenge just because he calls what in my ears sounds average "average", is stretching it a bit. It was just a compo for fun, and if you want to blame your position on one single person reviewing your song then at least consider that of most on the songs you reviewed the lowest score was given by you. Don't get me wrong here, I think your reviews were very good. It's just food for thought. Now let's group hug and celebrate xerxes fair victory! Hail to the king! |

So if people didn't take this compo seriously, maybe we shouldn't iether. Honestly; even before I left (and never had the chance to see the last two reviews of my song, when I was currently leading the compo) before Christmas I thought this kind of reviewing-system for a compo like this simply sucked. Just ask DDspeed, I agreed with him about this over ICQ.

... Like I said, it was enough to ruin for me in the top  And he knew that. I doubt he reviewed the song to help me writing better music, he just came up with absurd
arguments; "not enough melodies" for instance, and I would rather remove some instruments from the song, because I think there rather already ARE too much going on in the song ...

At least I was coherent, rated every song (except 2, because they entered after I left my computer for meeting relatives on christmas days) as honestly I could and as constructive I could. Matias just spitted out a "average" rating from nowhere, and just on my song. He didn't cared about the compo... He seems to be angry still, and that is the reason why he did it... And if you read the review, you see it is a really bad review (even THOUGH you may agree with the rating.) It is simply obvious, as long as you know all I know, and I could explain more if you want. Anyway, I was fair in my reviewing in this compo - he wasn't... And I say this because you compare me to him.

Yeah I really wanted xerxes to be the Winner if I wouldn't make it... So, I'm not that mad  But I can't hug Matias, he seems to hide from the forums, except when he call me "asshole". |
