You are not alone lone musician. Yes yes, you have your other musician's to support you and make you feel like you're in a community, but where does it all stem from? Trackerdom took off in the early 90's like a new form of underground music production. It was hip to be old school and your worst enemy was an out of tune 8-bit sample.

Still the demoscene still loves you. The first tracker was acually produced so that musician's would have the ability to create music for multimedia, or most importantly the demoscene which branches out of the cracktro scene. You might not realize the history behind your craft until you've seen what was produced 80's and onward. It was the world of the Amiga and c64.

Now the current demoscene is of 3d, graphics, and music skill, competeing yearly all over the world at parties such as Assembly, Dreamhack, State of the Art, and The Ultimate Gathering. You might be familiar with net lables as music bodies which produce ep's and music disks. The demoscene? Not much different accept in media types.

As a demoscene musician you work with a varied team. Usually this team has a art, music, and code department. The code is the glue. Of course you'll not really understand what a demo is until you've seen one.

Coding feats have packed entire 3d demos into as small as 4k and 64k. However some of the most stunning are mega demos.

Still not sure what the demoscene means and how you can get back to roots by being involved? Post your feedback and comments here.

I think the best thing about the demoscene is you're either a demoscener or you're not. "Artist", "musician", and "coder" are very broad but when they are combined you have a very tight package of all abilities. It's no wonder that there's an entire netRadio station, 2 netTV stations, and entire events to support it. Never mind the DVD's that have been produced, the t-shirts sold, and the karma shared. You should probably thank the demoscene for most of the multimedia technology that has been developed as well.
