Do you think e-jay is an okey program to use. I mean, sure it is fine to use as fun but do you think it is like cheating since you only put toghether loops made by some or other company??

If you use someone elses work and sort of mix it togheter in your own arrangement I would say you both yes and no...
You make your own arragement but you are not using your own melodies, rythm and stuff.
I would not accept it on ctg i think.
What's funny about using others work anyway?? |

I think the program is good enough as a start, but it's just to easy and becomes boring after a while. I remember when I first started to make my music with E-jay, it the beginning it was fun and excited to use it but later on I was looking at E-jay like I look in the mirror when I see my morning hair..
So my respect of music programs goes to programs like: Fruity Loops, Reason, Renoise, Buzz, but not E-jay. The program didn't seem so valuable to me, and it just never did.
Most respect to the Renoise Authors because that is the newest program I'm exploring.

as long as it's mentioned that e-jay was used, what's wrong with that? for someone who is totally new to producing music, i think it's a good way to learn about arrangement and stuff. i wouldn't take it so seriously, just about it and be proud of making your own stuff!
..and you can always give it a low rating for the lack of creativity |

oh yeah, and someone who uses e-jay can't expect to be taken seriously, and as soon as he starts taking music production seriously, he will switch to another program anyway (like for instance renoise ) |

As said before, eJay is great to start with, to get a feeling of how you put something together etc. but if you want to compose it makes things difficult. I used to use eJay together with my keyboard to create own melodies (here). It's also a great program for fun projects etc (here).
...but sooner or later you gotta move on to something with more possibilities

I started from Magix Music Maker in 1999, though I wouldn't release such tracks here. It's kindda shame IMO, I made all those tracks in about 30 minutes, no real talents needed. I installed once E-jay only for a moment, so I don't know about it, but in MMM 6 you could use "song wizard" which made songs automaticly in about 30 seconds... So I would rather kick tracks made in such programs. They don't need any talent nor real production or experience.

I'm not totally against it, if someone uses eJay or something and you don't think it's fair just post a lower rating but do not ban these songs... little guys are trying to achieve something with it, and maybe it's not creative but I think they DO put some effort in it. And we can always give them tips to improve, like choosing another program or so
