Hello, I am really pissed off :(

I can't make any tunes at the moment because my computer is really giving me a hard time, programs are locking out all the time, im getting bad crashes and i really need to format my pc and the problem is I cannot do this from inside windows....
I need to get into DOS but win 2000 dosn't have DOS. Does anyone know how to get around this problem..

Thanks
Nev

I'm not sure, but maybe you can take advantage of bootdiscs. Insert a bootdisc in the disc drive (a: for instance) and when you're there you write "format c:" (if c is the letter of the harddrive you want to format)

yeah, bootdisk (start up disk, which you can create) can solve the problem
not sure, but i think you can also reach msdos from windows

but, but: do you really need to format? why dont you clean the registry, and search for spywares... in most cases that solves the problem

You can’t use DOS commands in Win2000.
Win2000 does not use DOS.
You have to enter your systems BIOS and change the boot sequence to CD-ROM first
and HDD-0 second.
After saving the changes to CMOS, your system will reboot and ask you to press any
key to boot to CD (provided the Win2000 CD is in the drive).
Press any key and the Win2000 setup will start.
Win2000 will ask you if you want to install it on the partition (s) highlighted (WinME
or any others). Do not.
Delete all partitions and create a new one. Win2000 will format in NTFS and off you
go.
Win2000 is not a viable upgrade from WinME because ME was released after Win2000.
Good luck!

behold the dream that lights up your soul
