On first look it seems very nice but...
but 1. The colors do not match with the rest of the site.
but 2. It is a bit to big (height).
but 3. There is too much empty space on the left side.
but 4. There is not enought space for drop down menus.
but 5. I really miss the info about the current date and onliners and seach box.

I can only agree with this comments, I have always thougth that something were missing on the left side!

- Yep, it's empty in left, but I ran out of ideas 
- Damn I forgot those dropdowns 
- Forgot those dates, onliners and serch box
If it's too big that last block can be dropped out

It's nice, but I think I'd miss that face on it. That sharp looking face that seems consumed in music.. Other than that, your version could be a nice variation, always good with a little variation

I like yours, I even think the whole site could use a little chance.. it's not always that easy to find what you are looking for on this site..
