1st of all i wonder why someone who doesnt know that Infected Mushroom didnt make even one goa tune (if u go back to their 1st album, back to 99, of course u ll notice goa influence) is asking about the best favourite goa artist. Maybe u should talk about Shiva Shidapu (Erez Aizen & Jörg Kessler) and then we might b talkin about goatrance.
2nd: no one mention the beginners of goatrance: Hallucinogen (no doubt one of the master of goatrance & psychedelic), Electric Universe, Miranda, Deedrah, etc etc
Astral Projection s one of the survivors of goatrance. They r the best goatrance artist nowadays but back to the mid 90 Hallucinogen and co. were the best.
Psylent Buddhi s a danish goatrance artist which s ok but if u have artists like Hallucinogen, Prana, Alienated, Transwave, etc etc..... Psylent buddhi would b at last position.
Space Buddha s ok but nothing outstanding.
Going back to Infected Mushroom (and talkin about goa/psy music) i ve gotta say that "Converting Vegetarians", their last album s the less psychedelic album they ve made (except tracks like "Deeply disturbed", "Albibeno", etc). And as Erez Aizen (IM member) said: "this s the most commercial album we ve made so far" (and certainly it s coz a couple of months ago i saw "Deeply disturbed" videoclip in Sony Channel). The ambient cd s nothing but melodies & s nothing to do with psyambient. However (and coz it s an IM album) s an excellent album. Probably their best album s "BP Empire" and not only for the changes n progress they made (actually every IM album s different) but also for the production. The songs r excellents n the production behind outstanding.
Best goa artist of all times: Hallucinogen (Simon Posford), no doubt about it. He was the one of the founders and he s still producing excellent music (check Shpongle, Celtic Cross,Younger Brother & Hallucinogen)
Best 2003 goa artist: Astral Projection (their last album "Amen" s absolutely perfect if goa s the sound u like; there s not even one bad song besides the production s perfect)
About all the compilation that r so called GOA (exe.Goa Sound Systems, Distance to Goa, Ticket to Goa, etc) they r all psychedelic tunes (sometimes more progressive, sometimes more psychedelic)

read the whole topic. before posting, the issue that IM isn't goa has bee discussed before. I dun like hallucinogen though. I do like shiva a lot, their music is great

Max also had another project older than Etnica under the ''Crop Cirlces'' name. He used to play all kinds of Psychedelic,Spiritual and Goa.
Between those two i would definately go for IM. i think they are more original than AP. AP's tracks are very similar but IM's are not.
My favourite EVER in that kind of stuff are ''TRANCEWAVE''. A thousand times better than AP IMHO. 
Does anybody remember the ''PSYCHONAUTS''???

Destination had awsome tracks and Miranda kicked ass! I found him by accident on the net a while ago but i can't recall where...  X-dream also had some cool tracks when they used to play more psy and goa.
Hallucinogen doesn't really get the credit he deserves. His contribution is enoormous!Mass respect!!!
