i've been learning a lot lately about basslines and I was lookin for some good trance'ish base sounds like for the subtractor. Or do good artists use leads or something? It seems like a mystery to me lol

Check Muon VST plugins (like Tau, Tau2, Tau Pro). VST specially 4 clean basslines. Also u can check one of Novakill VST presets (check in the Godkiller or Dreamkiller). U can always check in the artists page n check how s their studio. (exe. www.yahel.com)

yeps, these and basic tau (?) are the only free ones you guys mentioned..
to get these and lot of others head to http://www.kvr-vst.com/

also triangle II makes great basses, aswell as Novation Bass-station but that one costs, and the presets suck serious ass, so you have to tweak yourself, not that hard though.
