I hope this isn't discused on an other TiS threat (couldn't find one)
But the link Traxinspace.com is dead again
Is this good or bad?
Maybe Saurin is almost ready with his project, why else buy the domain name back right!
Or he canceled, wich I hope not ofcourse.
what do you guys now?

I dont know any info about it but i can tell you what i think.
Some months ago site was only being planed, like writing ideas on the paper and gathering some overall idea. So saying that the site is ready is something unbelivable for me. If you want working and advanced site there is no chance you will make it in less then some 6months of quite hard working. So my guess would be that probaly Saurin just shut down the server computer since that page with message isnt really needed and hopefuly he is developing the site.
So my guess would be that if the new TiS will come it will took quite some more time to build it, in case if Saurin has lots of free time to spent it on this project. |

Heh, am I the only one who thought to go to Register.com and do a WHOIS lookup?
First of all, traxinspace.org is owned by some stupid web portal company that tries to hijack your browser when you go there, so don't go there. Please. Thank you.
Alrighty, time for a little Web Servers 101... anytime you simply type a domain name into your browser window and hit enter, such as only typing in "http://www.traxinspace.com", what your browser actually does is tries to go to http://www.traxinspace.com/index.html. The fact that you now get 404s when going to traxinspace.com simply means that Saurin has deleted index.html from his server. So, your browser asks the server for index.html, and the server says "404! There's no index.html here! Now go away and leave me the fuck alone!"
In fact, the mere fact that you're getting a 404 at all means that the server is actually still up and running. If the server was actually down, you wouldn't get a 404 at all. Instead, your browser would waste 30 seconds trying to connect to a non-existent server and then would give you some other error message, but not a 404.
Anyway, here's the WHOIS skinny on all 3 domain names:
traxinspace.com:
Still owned by Saurin Shah.
Expires October 29th, 2004
traxinspace.net:
Still owned by Saurin Shah.
Expires March 26th, 2005
traxinspace.org:
Owned by Popular Enterprises
Expires May 7th, 2004, at which point Saurin will hopefully take it back. |

Actualy what you said is not totaly true. If you type "http://www.traxinspace.com" the server will seek for default page settings which yes in most cases is index.html but this does not mean if index.html will not exist 404 will appear. Either you will see the root folder listing or if folder listing is disabled you will see message very similar to this one here: http://www.ctgmusic.com/tmp/. 404 means that the requested page canot be found so if you get 404 for http://www.traxinspace.com it means it currently does not exist.
Correct me if im wrong. |
