not the actuall descriptions, or the rating method itself - but the ratings given out by people.
my view is that there are many people reviewing inconsistantly and as such make the whole system a joke.
yes you can have varying view from different reviewers on different tracks, but when the same reviewer is rating one song which is very good, averagely, and rating another song which in comparison to that track is very poor, well, then its a joke.
too much `flavour` of the moment. i work with figures day in day out, monitoring/processes etc - and if you haven't got reliable figures then you may as well not have any at all.
why not just have `reviews` and perhaps leave the `ratings` to select people/admins etc.
if the rating didn't affect the chart position/popularity of a track then it wouldn't matter what people scored. |

This is suggested alot of times, aswell as discussed alot.
I think you shouldn't care about the rating, if the reviewer gives good arguments leave it then. Why do people care so much about ratings? It's about the feedback itself, and not about a silly number.

Obviously you and the reviewer see things different. That's not a reason to say that the system is crap.
Someone should make fun out of you. Why don't you do it yourself? |

Well, I explained my thoughts on pm, but will do it here too.
It's impossible to create a coherent formula for ratings/scores. This because peoples taste isn't coherent. You like some stuff and others will say it's crap. Don't say you never collide to this. Only issue we can rate at least someway coherent is technical quality and even that depends listeners monitoring system. That's also why I'm pretty tolreate what comes to ratings, if scores are well-grounded I don't see a problem. However it's became more an more abvious that some people think that technical quality is actually main factor of ratings, completely forgotten ideological content. So far we end up this: there's people who thinks they know how others should rate. There is songs you have to like and songs wich must be bashed since it's crappy from this ultimate musicians viewpoint.
Note that I'm not pointing anyone with my finger least to you dr3amz, but generally this issue has occured bit too frequently. |

the ratings here are way better and accurate than anywhere else, which is something to be atleast a bit satisfied.

imo there will be discussions prob for along time about the ratings being there, and weather they should be there in the first place, but assured u lot would miss them if they went
