I thinking of investing on a new cpu...
(not the pc just a new motherboard + processor and some stuff...)
But i don't know a crap about this :no: ,so I better ask to get some opinions.

Is the Athlon 64bit stuff really that good, or is the P-4 a better choice?

AMD is great for games, while intel is great for "real" pc useage what is was ment for (photoshop and all that kinda shit). So for music production, I'd go for intel ;)

Maybe I go intel, since i don't really play games on my pc ( just music & gfx stuff )

BULL SHIT, hahahahahahaha, processor differences are so small they are insignificant, really!
things you could rather pay attention to is your sound card/mainboard of your harddrive speed&size... these are of a lot greater influence than the processor brand...

i really would take an AMD, since it is cheaper than intel, and therefore you can buy some extra hertz :yes: , and hertz do matter...

Actually what i said is not really true... but what kind of processor you use for a specific application is in the music biz not at all interesting as music programs do not require a specific processor.

fact is, AMD offers more Ghz for less money than Intel does, so I would go AMD
another fact is, people in any kind of professional business use Intel most of the time, but i still can't find any usefull reason for that...

actually AMD has been tested to be faster in music production, atleast cubase and logic.
