because logic is only distributed on the mac these days... on the pc it goes only as far as 5.5.1... and honestly logic really is a great professional piece of software.

well that's not the only reason, apple and emagic have done a lot of research and logic and mac have been developed to be perfect for each other...
for instance, a track in PC that would take let's say 70% of CPU power in one of the latest intel or amd processors, will take about 10% cpu on mac even though the processor would be slower.

It's a damned good program, isn't it? =)

Still, now that I've got my AMD, I have to say I would have probably plumbed for an Intel chip instead, partially to see what all this new-fangled hyperthreading is all about. But then again, for the other work I do, GHz and clock cycles does play a big part (since it depends on how fast the computer can perform straight maths functions).
That said, if you're looking to overclock to get more speed, don't go for the new Prescott core - from what I've heard it uses variable vcore settings so manually changing this in the BIOS (if they haven't locked it already) might do some rather nasty things to it.

But yeah at the end of the day I'm still a deep-rooted AMD supporter for no apparent reason at all.
LAST DAY OF THE TERM! Let the work begin.
