Ethelion, not to piss you off or anything, but I think you've missed the point that J/M/T/M is trying to raise. Its not about whether 'trance kiddies' or, how I prefer to say 'Prima Donna's' (ok, I've lost count now) *are* more talented or not - its about the attitude they take, when they can't take critism on the chin, and decide that sending abusive bullshit emails to the reviewer, in some lame attempt to say their song was better than the review they got.

Randor, I'm mature enough these days to ignore such emails - but the question is, is it acceptable to have these emails flying around in the first place? I think not. These are the type of people J/M/T/M is attacking, and to be fair, I dont blame J/M/T/M at all for that.

Obscene, I hear ya !  , actually being an ass *is* the point, if I had been all nice, polite and tolerant about it, I wouldn´t have gotten any angry replies, which was the point of this topic, and it seems Ive gotten alot of good critique here, but overall I´d say that the response is MUCH less flaming than I had anticipated, if I had started this thread six months from now, there would had been many, many more angry flame replies than today!
Ethelion, attacking my viewpoint is one thing, but please, don´t drag my music into it! save that for the reviews! And btw, in the future, I won´t be putting war-making topics like this one on the boards, it was only a simple test. And golly gee, it worked!

-> Slammy, I think I expressed a way to prevent (or even reduce amount) of these messages. Not offending but read it, read. I'm not blaming J/M/T/M for anything, just telling you have to do (or try) nice way first. This war sounds insane and childish, I'm sorry to say. You HAVE to realize not all musicians are so aware of their standpoint.

Well, I think this topic is far great! There is WAY to much immature flaming on these boards as I mentioned in some other topic also on this site.
I've fallen in to the trap op 'tracne', since I never understood the relation between trance and kiddy, but I think it's because I'm a trance kiddy myself.
Anywayz, I think that you don't need be pissed of when someone flams you.

I wasn't offended by anyway by your post. The nice way is tried and tested though. Maybe the 'war' as its been put, is insane and childish - but, whatever it is, its something that shouldn't have even got to this point, where there is a discussion on whether extreme flamers are right or not to express their opinion in the way they do, and how we should go about about stopping it. Its simple, it shouldn't be happening in the first place. People need to have a lot more respect for other people and their opinions than what is shown in some of the delightful emails, that have plagued my own inbox in the past. Like you state, do the nice way first. It has to work both ways - I'm all for people emailing me telling me they don't agree with my views, reviews, or whatever - when its done in a diciplined manner - but when such emails are disguised in pure rage and hatred, there has to be a line drawn.

Randor, yes, Ive noticed since my re-arrival that this site has employed a whole batch of nifty mechanisms to control the content inside, this is good thinking!
And do feel free to cut me off with a beep or two if Im about to say something stupid (whoooops, too late for that now! )
Anyways, Im gonna keep this topic open for a few more day to see what drops in,
I think I got what I came here for now
And for the record, I used to be a nice guy, then something happend.. and now Im not.
