United Trackers has been Re-launched. Check out the new site at:
http://www.unitedtrackers.com (436 hits)
We are still waiting for the old domain, http://www.united-trackers.org to update across the internet. This will take a couple days.
Check the press release out in the latest issue of Scene Zine, over at http://www.scenerep.org.

Well at this point i dont see many adds of the new site. More likey i see it as a minus since older site seemed to have more to offer, it had existing forums with contents, also it had big archive of songs and artists, so basicly i find this only as new layout out for old site and with some less features as it had before.

Give it some time. I believe it will be filled with new content, and from what I see you still can access the old UT.

They're not importing the old database. Kosmos's statement about that can be found in Scene Zine 13. For those of you have registration problems please replace your confirmation url with the domain prefix http://ut.madtracker.org for the time being.

I believe login issues are now corrected. If the URL in the reply e-mail points to www.united-trackers.org you should be able to switch it to www.unitedtrackers.com and the link should then work. This has to do with the length of time it is taking for the DNS entry to propogate across the internet... We honestly thought that the .com was going to take longer to switch over... Funny how things don't work out as planned... Regardless, any new users to the site should get a working link in their response e-mail, to the .com page.
As for site content and additions, our original goal was to get a set of forums, and some of the old content ported over. In this respect, I think we've done a pretty good job, as all the old articles are now on the new site, and we have forums that are infinetly more functional than the old ones.. Because the site is PHP-Nuke based, it is much easier to manage, administer, and add stuff to the new site. PHPNuke is under the GPL, so we're free to create new modules, and add pre-built modules to the site. We also have full control over the site, where on the old site, there were many site control issues. We're still trying to get the archived messages, so we can tap them for useful knowledge and perhaps write some more articles.
So while you may not see a lot that is new right now, there is much more potential for growth. I agree, we don't have everything that the old site had... If there's something you'd really like to see on the new site, come on over, and post to the website board, or PM an admin (Me, Mike, or Blaster) at the new site.
As well, if you think you can help out, drop us a line via the same channels mentioned above... We want more original content, relevant to the current tracking community... We don't discriminate between traditional trackers or modular trackers. Whether you want to write a Renoise/Psycle/Buzz/MPT/IT/FT2 article, a sampling/synthesis article, or just a plain old software review, we'd like to post it for you! Found a new piece of software for trackers? We'll add it to our extensive links section. We're pretty eager to please. |
